Cordless Saw August 31, 2010 Chuck I am very pleased with the saw. It is not for framing work, but works fine for small finish work. With a plywood blade it gives very smooth cuts in cabinet grade birch. I recommend it for a home owner who does occasional small projects.
6 1/2 dewalt cordless circular saw July 26, 2010 Frank E. Monheiser I love my saw and it is handy with no cords running around the garage and more powerful than you think, I had to fix a dog house board, yes one board, the dog was hungry, and of course the dog house is in back of the yard and I grabbed my trusty saw and measered the board I removed and cut it right there and I was done, great value also Thank you, Frank
Great Homeowner Saw June 23, 2010 A. Shortill (Hollis, Maine) The guy at Home Depot tried to sell me the 7 1/4 inch corded saw, citing that it was far more saw for the money over the 6 1/2 inch cordless kit. He also told me that cordless saws eat battery power so a corded saw is better. I have a bunch of 18v batteries from other tools, so buying the bare tool was far cheaper than the corded saw. Additionally, I am not a contractor who needs cutting power all day. I need to cut stuff on a far smaller scale so the batteries are not an issue. So far, this saw has cut everything I've thrown at it with ease. This product is an excellent addition to my Dewalt 18v tool box.
Junk Saw June 3, 2010 William L. Broderick (Trinidad,Colorado) I was very much looking forward to using this saw on a part of my property that has no power. I had two fully charged batteries and I was using the blade that came with the saw. I tried to cut a two by four and the saw stalled the first time I used it about one quarter inch into the cut. I changed to a two by four that was extremely dry and had the same result. I double checked the batteries which are also new and had the same result. I was using the "Fast Woodcutting", 16 tooth blade that came with the saw, double and triple checked everything and had the same result. I thought of buying a plywood type blade with more teeth per inch but why blow another 20 some dollars. I'm very disappointed in DeWalt and Amazon. I thought I was buying a quality product, boy, was I wrong.
Great tool! January 29, 2010 Moondoggie (Midwest) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this "Bare-Tool", as I already own another DeWalt tool and have spare batteries and a charger. I have a 18 volt "Black & Decker Firestorm" saw of this type, but it is very under powered, and the battery packs do not last well. This DeWalt will out saw the B & D numerous times over and is an excellent buy.
