It's a funny thing about jigsaws; most of us tend to reach for another tool in its stead, having had less-than-great experiences with the little beasts. But here comes Bosch's 1590, and it elevates the outcast jigsaw to the most-wanted list. The first thing we liked about this saw is its heft; it's beefy, solid and made with that famous Swiss quality. You wrap your hand around the soft, substantial grip, squeeze the ample trigger and the soft-start whirs gently; with hardly any effort from you, the blade slices through whatever's ahead of it. Perhaps because it's heavier than most jigsaws, there's practically zero vibration, giving you a delightfully smooth, no-buzz experience, something pretty much unheard of in your average jigsaw. Another nice feature is the speed mechanism: Set your maximum speed on the trigger dial, then control your speed up to that max by squeezing the trigger. On long cuts, you can lock the trigger on, too, and the blower actually does keep your cutline clear. If that's all this saw had going for it, that would be enough for us. But coolest of all is the blade-change system that literally ejects the blade in a split second, takes the new one and gets you right back to your cutting - all tool-free. Amazing. Works Like a Champ September 1, 2008
When I got the Bosch jigsaw to replace my old Black and Decker. It was the best investment I ever made. The unit itself is heavy but it runs very smoothly and fast. I can't believe how fast it cuts through a 3/4" plywood. I remembered using my old Black and Decker jigsaw (I bought from Home Depot for $49)to cut a hole to fit a kitchen sink. It took me a good 45 mins. If I had this tool, it will only take me less than 5 mins. I alway knew Bosch makes good dishwasher, who knew they make such awesome tools as well. So far, I have use it to cut plywood, pine and mahogany and it works like a champ everytime. This jigsaw is comparable to Dewalt, Makita, and Craftsman. Amazon has the best price, no tax...You won't regret owning this product.

As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for", and this tool delivers its function commensurate to its cost. Its capacity to cut two byes is a joy to behold.
Outstanding jigsaw August 21, 2008
The Bosch 1590EVSK is an excellent general purpose jigsaw. It is manufactured in Switzerland unlike lower cost Bosch jigsaws manufactured in China. It has a solid grip with smooth motor and saw movement. The 6.4 amp motor provides plenty of power for working with wood up to 2 X 4 size. The precision guide control and blade orbit selection features allow clean, accurate cuts through a variety of materials. The blade ejection feature and easy loading T-Shank blades make fast blade changes. The Bosch blades retained their edge through continuous work with plywood and pressure treated lumber. My only concern has been how hot the front part of the saw gets after several minutes of continuous use. This has not been a problem so far.

After having a Dewalt DW331k break on me three times I gave up and got the Bosch 1590EVSK. What a difference. This jig saw does what it's asked to do with no complaints. The blade changing system is pretty much fool proof and the bevel adjustment is smooth, quick, and easy. The weight of the machine removes vibration and the variable speed motor is infinitely adjustable and sensitive to finger pressure. It's everything that a carpenter could ask for and it has a wonderfully long cord to boot. The true test will be its longevity but from the workout I have given it so far I am confident that this is one rugged and reliable tool. Goodbye Dewalt; no more junk for me.
Fun to use jigsaw June 29, 2008
Been wanting one of these for several years. Finally broke down and bought one. Wish I would have done this when I first thought about it. Could have been enjoying it for years!
