Awesome Product April 8, 2007 I was looking for a good cordless circular saw, and my search brought me to the Milwaukee V28. It is everything that they say it is. I am able to rip down 14ft lengths of lumber with very little problems at all. It cuts as good as any corded saw I've used. I have yet to have used it until the battery died, which has shown me that it does have a lasting charge. I have killed the battery on the drill using it to mix epoxy with a curing compound, and let me tell you that is a tough job. I mixed 9 buckets for 27 straight minutes before the battery died. Epoxy is thick too, so it would put a strain on the drill, but this drill powered right through it. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a powerful cordless set of tools.
Not afraid of work - aggressive January 3, 2007 I'm rehabbing a mobile home, replacing the floor, etc. and needed the flexibility of cordless. So despite that I was concerned about the weight of the tools, I bought the reconditioned Milwaukee V28 combination set after a bad experience with a not-ready-for-real-work cordless DeWalt reciprocal saw.
These V28's truly respond like aggressive corded tools. No fear of work here. You can get the job done, whatever it is. Tool weight has not been a problem at all. I felt tempted to go with the lighter DeWalt 18 volt XRP combo because I have the 18 volt DeWalt XRP finish nailer and impact driver but wanted the extra power. I'm glad I did.
I thought I would never use the flashlight. Then I hired a guy to frame up a walk-in closet. And I made a negative comment about the flashlight. Man, did he straighten me out. They want to buy another for use in crawl spaces and the like, where one light isn't enough. So this flashlight has become my friend as well.
Recomended tools for any one November 11, 2006 This is the most powerful and longest lasting cordless equipment I have ever used.I have an 18 volt millwaukee package and it can not compair to this one in 28 volt. The reliabulity and power of these tools is outstanding .My Father in-law has another brand in the 24 volt and it could not keep up with the 28 volt mil.My drill was putting in half again as many screws as his 24 volt.Talk about driving power this thing drives even 3/8 lag screws very impressive. One of the best parts of this set is the circular saw it is very quiet and fast with the rip gauge i have cut 2x4, ripped plywood and thru it all it works effortlessly and quietly .The light is great and runs a long time on one charge. One great thing about the new style battery is the charge indicator, you can actually see that the tool is running out of power befor it dies .Like advertised the tools run at full power until completly dead.
