Ridgid combo tool review September 19, 2008 I bought a reconditioned Ridgid combo cordless tool kit, exactly like this one, locally, for $225. I am very satisfied with my purchase. I haven't used the sawsall yet but I have used the circular saw, drill and flashlight. All items worked flawlessly with more than enough power. If I had to say anything negative about the product it would be that it is a lot heavier than I was expecting. It is definitely a heavy duty outfit and should meet the demands of any handyman.
Used ridgid tool kit. June 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The tools work fine, but they were not in as good of condition as I would of thought. They need to be a little more clear that a recondtion meant a full refurbished tool.
Good for the price. However... May 10, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The tools were undoubtely used. The drill was the worst. The main problem was that the battery socket on the drill was broken. The rest Ok. Still worth it.
Ok but had problems with the drill October 22, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My drill had problems from the start. The trigger was faulty and it sometimes stayed on and also went from 0 to max rpm no matter how softly it was engaged. I sent it to the service center and it took 3 plus months to get it back. The chuck had a serious oscillating wobble to it which they did not even fix. No precision drilling with this tool. the other parts of the kit work adequately for cordless. I prefer my Makita cordless though.
great cordless kit November 24, 2005 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I'm not so sure about the recondintioned combo kit, but the new version is superior to other cordless kits I've owned in the past. I've used many different cordless kits and Ridgid has to be the best.
Very powerful Hammer Drill runs for hours and hours with a single battery's life. Circular saw is strong enough to rip boards and not choke. Recipricating Saw (Sawzall) is also really powerful for a cordless tool - will run down battery life much quicker than the other tools. Even the goofy little flashlight does it's job and has a few convenient features so you can position right where you need it. Finish charging 2 batteries at an impressive 30 minutes - well surpassing the charge time of DeWalt, Milwaulkee, Craftsman - you name it.
The saws in this combo definitely eat up a lot of juice at once, but as long as you have a place to charge your batteries, you shouldn't have to sit around waiting for things to charge at you jobsite.
