Amazon.com Review Bosch's Compact Tough cordless drills are designed to provide professional power in a compact profile and perform tough jobs in tight spaces and close quarters without compromising durability. Employing a flexible ABS nylon blend, this tool can stand up to the roughest job site conditions. This 14.4-volt model has a two-speed gearbox that delivers up to 300 inch-pounds of torque in high-torque mode and up to 1,200 rpm in high-speed mode. There's also a large two-sided fan for cool operation and motor durability and a 16-position clutch for matching the torque to your task. We like the ratcheting chuck that allows for quick, reliable one-handed bit changes and the soft rubber grip Bosch includes on all its cordless tools. For people who want the most power they can get in a small drill, this 14.4-volt model may be the best bet. It has the most torque of all Bosch's Compact Tough drills and weighs only 4.4 pounds. This model includes the drill, two 2 amp hr batteries, a one-hour charger, a bit holder, and a carrying case. --Brian Trinen

Still happy after two years February 18, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I do home repair, and I have used this drill for 2 years, with no problems. It does only have a 3/8 chuck while some others are 1/2 inch, and the chuck is plastic on the outside, but that hasn't been an issue for me. I have dropped it several times, and it hasn't stopped working yet.
I like the feel and weight, and it has plenty of power. The batteries are still going strong, and they spend a lot of time in my truck, in the hot and cold and not plugged in. I also purchased a 5 3/8 saw (tool only) which I like very much and it shares the batteries. I would recommend it.
Decent but..... July 30, 2006 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Were I work we have purchased numerous Bosch 14.4 Brute and Compact drills. Surprisingly the Compact has held up better than the Brute. We also have had trigger problems with the Bosch drills but so far only in the Brute which is supposed to be a bit more durable. The variable speed has stopped working on number of them. I personally own a few Bosch tools and love them but I am not so sure their cordless drill line is up to par with Dewalt and Panasonic.

Satisfied Owner December 4, 2005 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I rarely write reviews but I always read them before buying a tool. I've owned this drill now for two years and am still impressed with it. I like it so much I'm getting one for my son who is starting his own collection of tools. After having it for two years I can't find one negative thing to say about it.
Huge Torque, Great Battery Life November 9, 2005 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I love everything about this drill except for one small thing. I have been using this for one day, and as a prior reviewer mentions, this thing smells. If you have ever experienced a battery room for forklifts, etc in a warehouse you know the smell. Sort of like rotten eggs. I have no idea why this occurs or if it wears off over time. This came as part of BP-10CD, flash light, 2 batteries, and driver from Lowes on clearance for $219 - 10% discount = about $200. I don't think you can beat it. I am driving 1" holes in a maple work bench used forstner bits and this thing is killing it. Awesome.
