The Mini Covert is a member of Gerber's Applegate-Fairbairn folding knife family. Designed by Bill Harsey, the Mini Covert is a scaled down version of the original Applegate-Fairbairn Covert. Inspired by the original design by former OSS officer, Col. Rex Applegate, with over 40 years of knife design experience and legendary in the world of knife design and hand-to-hand combat. Nicely made knife, that says quality from the Torx screws used to assemble it to the snick of the blade locking into place. Only one small nitpicking issue with a sharp edge on the thumb stud that should have been smoothed at the factory.

Really exceeds expectations. Well made but very light and beautifully balanced. Great clip, good one handed opening, etc. Very happy with this in all aspects.

Don't let the size of the Gerber Mini-Covert fool you or that it's blade is only 2.94" in length. Last fall, was driving my Mom's car on I-75, when the car's wheelwell liner came off. I didn't have a screwdriver in the car and had to use my Mini-Covert to cut off the liner hanging down. Was impressed with not only how sharp but how well the blade cut. One swipe with the knife and it cut it right off. Since than I carry it with me all the time. I like how it fits using the pocket clip in your pocket. You are not going to hit it and lose it when sitting down. Like I did with a Buck Odyssey. I use it whenever it's needed and really like it. I would recommend this knife to anyone, it's a great everyday knife. One any knife enthusiast should have in their collection.
