Great fun! December 21, 2008 Quality and service were fine. I would have preferred a "selection" but you can not go wrong with the price. Excellent price.
fun to mess around with September 11, 2008 I purchased this skimboard last spring because I wanted to try skimboarding out. It works very well in puddles, and decent in very shallow lakes or on tarps if they are set up the right way. It also seems like a nice size. The one problem I have found with it is that it scratches easily, and mine has warped for some reason(it's not very thick). But, I get by with it. This is a pretty good value for the cheap price, and good for someone that just wants to mess around with a skimboard every once in awhile. If you are serious about skimboarding, get a better one.
Very poor quality September 8, 2008 I purchased 2 of these.
1 of them I received was curved the wrong way, or was painted on the wrong side. Completely unusable, and it would have cost me more then than the refund to ship it back. So that money I basically just lit on fire.
At best they are really cheap pieces of plywood as I expected. I didn't intend for them to last long as they are only big enough for very young children.
I would recommend againse ordering these from Amazon since some of them are odviously defective, and need to be inspected pre purchase.
You get what you pay for! Don't expect it to last a season! July 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This arrived today and let me tell you I could have made one of these cheaper than what I paid for this. And the one I'd have made would have been of better quality wood. I can tell it will not last the summer. But with the price, what can one expect. The graphics/paint are already rubbed off and we haven't used it yet. The clear coating on back is minimal and rubbed thin in places. It was done cheaply without quality control. Afterall it's just a piece of painted wood...plywood just about 1/4" thick. Nothing more. Nothing special.
Skimboards are fun, but this is for amateurs. June 26, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We bought this for a beach trip we took a couple of weeks ago and I definitely wiped out and never got the hang of it. We were told by some locals that the thicker the board, the better. This board is barely a centimeter thick. Unfortunately, for someone who wants to learn and enjoy the time on the board you may want to spend a bit more on one. Professional ones are about $150-200 and one that most beach go-ers get, $40-60.
