Can't live without it now. December 28, 2008 I just got this nailer, and now I don't know how I did without it! It's not available on Amazon at this time, so I had to get it on a well known auction website. This nailer works great for my around the house trim upgrading projects (of which I have many). It loads easily, doesn't fire too loudly (it wasn't loud at all especially compared to nail guns powered by an air compressor), and it doesn't leave a mark on the wood surface other than the small hole where the nail passed thru. This nailer obviously wasn't designed for major framing type jobs, but for trimming jobs it's perfect! I can't wait to start my next project just so I can use this gun more!!! It's sweeeeeeeeeeet!!!!
Works December 16, 2008 I love tools that work and this nail gun works like a charm. Not too heavy and seems to have all the power it needs....
works well December 16, 2008 I love the whole black and decker firestorm line. they are great. Lowes stoped carrying them.. i dont know of any other place you can still get them exept Amazon.com
Firestorm Nailer December 16, 2008 Only used this item once for a small project using 1 1/2" nails.
Worked great. Battery will make it heavy for any major work.
great for what it is intended for December 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Granted, I haven't used this nailer heavily, so far it has been good. It's kind of light weight so I don't know how it would hold up for daily use, but is seems generally well built, not cheap toy-like plastic like some of the other firestorm tools. No jams, but I've taken other users recommendations and always use a fresh battery. Maybe that's the trick. I've nailed through all kinds of molding, including the 2 inch nails through 1 inch brick mold, which is usually a fairly hard wood. It always nails all the way in with out problems as long as you are shooting straight and not nailing at an odd angle.
It shoots up to 2 inch 18 gauge nails, which are plenty adequate for most light wood work and any kind of trim mold. Certainly I wouldn't try to frame up anything with this tool. That's not what it is made for. It is more convenient than an air powered gun. It kind of "winds up" when you pull the trigger before it shoots, unlike an air nailer, so you have to get used to that. I love not having drag a cord or hose nor hook up a hose and start a compressor like you would an air powered gun. For the weekender, not having to invest in a compressor that you'd seldom use is a big plus. And for those of us not so mechanically inclined, it's way better that wearing yourself out swinging a hammer and marring up your wood. For just over a hundred bucks it's well worth the price. It's even a better buy if you have any of the firestorm tools where you can interchange the batteries.
