We are firm believers in getting more than what you pay for out of a tool, and Porter Cable's Three Nailer/Stapler and Compressor Combo Kit delivers a lot more bang for the buck. The 120-volt, 10-amp pump not only provides a continuous air supply for the nail and staple guns, but the portable 6-gallon air tank can supply up to 150 psi of air for other tools in your shop or garage. Not only do you get an oil-free, maintenance-free pump with 40 feet of quality 1/4-inch air hose and 2 couplers, but the three nailer stapler guns are like having an extra set of hands in the shop. No longer do you have to clamp two pieces of wood together so that you can hold a nail or brad in one hand and a hammer in the other. In the workshop you can use the brad nailer for fastening smaller wood projects or the -inch stapler for installing items such as screen wire, low voltage wiring, upholstery, furniture coverings, or any project where a staple can be used in place of a screw.  Get a different model September 18, 2008
I have used the Brad and Finish nailer on 2 small projects around the house. They seem to work great although they won't use longer lengths I have found them to be easy and accurate. HOWEVER, I have had the compressor in use only 6 or 8 times mostly blowing off dusty clothes after a project and it is now leaking. I am so pi..... Now I have to make a trip to get it fixed or mail it at my own cost per the warranty. I had hoped to make a tool buying switch to Porter Cable after hearing of their good tools. That is doubtful given the current taste in my mouth.
The compressor does seem loud but I have no real reference point of comparison except jackhammers but that's not fair.
Portability is somewhat limited. The pancake style of this unit is a little robust to carry easily for any distance, but it is portable. And, due to the weight the valve or connection between the tank and compressor seem to stretch or give each time I pick it up, worrying me about its longevity.
Spend your money on another model. I am going to get one that is more square in over all shape, takes up less space, and hopefully will be dependable for years instead of approx. 5 hours of work.

Great set up for the average person. I used this set up to finish my basement. I continue to use the set up for other applications, and let friends use it as well.

This unit is a real workhorse. If you break in the compressor properly as the instructions tell you how to do... it works great time after time. The finish nailer is very powerful, and the smaller brad nailer is just right for trim work. Haven't had a need to use the narrow crown stapler yet, but even without that it would still be worth the $279 I paid. Throw in free shipping to my doorstep and it beats what's available by driving to the big box stores. My only issue with Porter-Cable is I can't buy replacement nail strips for the 16 gauge finish nailer at my local lumber yard. The nail strips they have are 15 gauge and don't work with Porter-Cable nailers. But I did find a Porter-Cable dealer in the next town who does have the correct fasteners to use with the finish nailer. I would recommend this combo nailer compressor kit to anyone like me who has been pounding nails... these air tools are like having a third hand. Great tools, great price.
No problems so far June 27, 2008
I have used the compressor with the finish nailer and stapler that comes with this kit, as well as a PC framing nailer I bought separately. It is loud and if at all possible, I try to keep the compressor in a different room from the one I am working in. Other than that, it has made my crown molding project a breeze compared using a hammer.
