so far, so good August 24, 2008 Havent had it long but it works great. I thought it may use impact during drilling concrete but it doesnt. So if you think you have a combo driver, drill, and impact, forget it. But it works great for what it is.
MAKITA BETTER May 14, 2008 I bought both the Makita 12v and this DeWalt because I already had a set of 14.4 DeWalt tools. The Makita feels better for all day use, is better designed. Replaceable brushes. Ergonomic angle is much better. The LED light on the Makita is great for under counters with little or no light. The Makita drove just as hard and I thought much better when it needed to torque.
Kornstock February 2, 2008 I have a home repair business and have used this tool for several years. I have yet to find something it won't drive or drill. I have not used the 18 volt driver yet, but on the other hand I have never needed more power. I have noticed that Mike Holmes of the Holmes on Homes DIY show uses nothing but this tool. Another asset is the size and weight. The 18 volt DeWalt drill/driver gets heavy, especially when you are putting in drywall screws overhead. With this lighter tool, not so much. With a few minutes practice anyone can drive any screw, bolt, nut, etc. like a pro. Lastly it's impact style of drive makes loosening stuck screws and nuts a little eaiser.
great impact! August 24, 2007 The impact gun was exactly what I was looking for at a great price. It took about a week to get and was worth the wait. Works excellent.
Dewalt 14.4v Impact Driver August 23, 2007 Bought the Dewalt 14.4v Impact Driver to drive tile backer board screws. The tool exceeded my expectations. The tool has plenty of torque, is well balanced and held a charge to drive over 100 screws. I would highly recommend it to drive hex, torque or square head screws/bolts. It doesn't work as well on philips head because it will easily strip the head if it slips.
