Amazon.com Product Description The BernzoMatic trigger-started cast aluminum torch head light is a self-igniting high-temperature torch head designed for easy operation. Simply pull the trigger for ignition, and release it to turn off. This head produces a swirl flame and burns propane or mapp gas. Pressure regulation allows the flame to burn in any direction and ensures consistent performance. Even while the flame burns, the replaceable brass tip stays cool. The stainless steel burn tube, cast aluminum body, and brass burn tip are constructed for durability. The BernzoMatic torch head weighs 1.3 pounds and is backed with a 1-year limited warranty.

Loose trigger November 10, 2008 The torch worked on the first try and had few plastic parts save the trigger. While the combination on/off and trigger start button worked, it fit loosely in the torch body and did not have a positive on/off click making me wonder what position it was in. Also, while the tip produced good heat while holding it in any position, I would have liked the ability to adjust the intensity of the flame. My older Master Mechanic torch, while not built as ruggedly, had this option as well the trigger start and set in a one hand operation. Alas, the plastic body succumbed after being lent out.
Bernzo Matic Torch May 24, 2008 This is without question the best torch that I have ever used. I have used just about every torch that there is. I use them to start crawfish boils, fireplaces and burn piles on my property. These are my primary uses, I have others. This is quick and easy to use. It is safe to use with it's features.
Great torch, but very heavy January 29, 2008 The features and durability of this torch are excellent, and I have no complaints about its performance. My only problem with it is that it is very heavy--at least twice as heavy as other such torches I've used (but those torches didn't have these features). This makes it slightly more tiring to use, but it also makes your torch top-heavy, which can make it more difficult to aim quickly, and easier to knock over. Nevertheless, great torch.
High output propane and mapp torch January 2, 2008 It's a solid torch that puts out a good deal of heat quickly even when using propane. The trigger could be a bit more durable as it tends to misfire after a years worth of use, however it's a good tool by in large.
Easy start torch, either propane of MAPP July 23, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this torch, because I saw some plumbers using one. It starts with a button push (utilyzing a built in piezoelectric spark generator), so you can turn it on and off without any hassel. My older torches all require an external ignition source, usually a flint spark tool used by oxy-acetylene welders. So, once I light one of my older torches, I usually leave it on. Also, I have separate MAPP and propane torches - this torch burns both gasses, and does not seem to spit or flare up on MAPP when inverted, as my older torches do. But it does cost twice as much. You get what you pay for. By the way, MAPP = MethylAcetylene ProPadiene.
