Product Description TopSaverTM is unlike anything ever made. It is a Rust Remover, Lubricant, Surface Sealant, Conditioner for metal surfaces. It completely removes rust and corrosion from the pores of the metal surface. It reduces sliding friction, eliminates binding and surface hang-ups on tabletops, repels moisture and seals the surface pores against rust and corrosion. You simply apply TopSaverTM with its easy to use pump spray applicator and massage into the metal surface to remove rust and corrosion. Wipe the surface clean, then reapply and buff. Once your equipment has been treated with Top SaverTM this brilliant conditioner will bond itself onto the metal surface creating a lubricous deep rich finish that will reduce surface hang-ups and last for weeks or months depending upon usage.

Complete Top Saver Sytem November 9, 2008 Excellent product, did exactly was it was advertised to do. It three or four applications and elbow grease to get my table saw top to the condition I wanted but I am very satisfied with the product.
Rust-away December 23, 2007 This product will remove light rust from raw metal surfaces. I used it on my wood joiner, table saw and band saw. It worked great. However, you will notice discoloration in the areas where rust had been. After using the sealer the surfaces were back to their original smoothness. It was worth the money if you have no other similar products at home.

Restored an oxidized saw table to almost new. Easy to use. Finally, a product that actually works on rust.
Exactly what it says January 18, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Top Saver claims to clean, polish, wax and protect the surface of your tools...and it's done all of those for me. From my brand new tablesaw that needed to be cleaned initially, to an old rusty scroll saw, both surfaces are clean and smooth for use now. Glad I bought it instead of separate cleaners and waxes.
It just doesn't do what it claims to do. December 7, 2006 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I read all the reviews here before I bought this product. It is also very highly spoken of on the Woodworking forums. I bought a brand new Unisaw and set it up in my garage shop. Within one week the top started showing some light rust. I pulled out the TopSaver (TM) to come to the rescue. It worked great at removing the rust...a bit of elbow grease required but it did come off. I followed the instructions to a "T". Now for the interesting part. I applied it while it was cold out. About 1-2 days later it warmed up and some precipitation formed on the cast iron tables. By day three the top was completely re-rusted - I would say worse than it was before the Topsaver was even applied. THREE DAYS! That's it. Wy wife came home through the garage and said to me - and I quote "You should have used that stuff you bought to keep the saw from rusting, it looks terrible." Three days.
Now granted, I live in Southern Vermont, in a valley, and it can get very humid here. Also the saw is in my garage and not a climate controlled workshop. So this is worst-case-scenario conditions for testing this product. But under those conditions I can tell you with 100% certainty - it just doesn't work. Maybe the positive reviews are coming in from people who are using it in climate-controlled, dehumidified indoor workshops and probably don't even need it in the first place. I can't say. I can say that I might use it to remove the rust and then cover with a wax or synthetic auto sealant.
PS - If you are going to use this product to remove rust, I would recommend applying with a random orbital sander. Just attach a Scotch Brite pad to a hook-and-loop backing plate. This will save you tons of time over applying by hand. I would also remove as much rust as possible with steel wool first to save on costly Topsaver - otherwise you will be reapplying multiple times needlessly.
