Amazon.com Review Tight mortise-and-tenon joinery is an irreplaceable ingredient of many woodworking projects, but cutting tenons accurately can be next to impossible without the aid of a good jig, like this one from Delta. This jig is made with the same quality of castings and precision machining found on Delta's top-of-the-line table saws, giving it the stability and accuracy we desire. We also appreciate its versatility and wide range of adjustment. While the jig is a perfect match for Delta's benchtop and contractor saws, the miter-slot bar can adjust to fit a number of other manufacturers' table saws as well. It can be used with both right- and left-tilt saws, although switching between the two setups does take some time and attention to detail. The jig can be adjusted from 90 to 45 degrees and has adjustable positive stops; of course, we recommend checking your adjustments with a good square and bevel gauge to make sure the stops are set correctly. Getting your tenoning jig set up just right can require some patience, but once done, you'll get a big payoff in accurate tenons, and your projects will have the tightest possible joints. In our experience, few shop accessories will prove as invaluable to your woodworking as this solid tenoning jig from Delta. --Brian Trinen

delta tenoning jig December 1, 2008 I build one piece of furniture at a time and purchased the jig for only mortise and tenon joints. The jig was easy to set up, took only a small amount of tuning and works well. When you get it clean it up with paint thinner and add a wood backer board and you'll be in business.
Delta Tenon Jig October 25, 2008 Excellent product fo the money! This is still the older style fixture which Delta has sold for years. Surfaces are flat within reason, it's well built. The handles appear sturdy even though they are hollow plastic. The fine adjustment knob works well - I can tell you that this is an important feature for fine tuning tenons. Great price from Amazon. Used jigs from Ebay bid for nearly as much as new ones. No complaints.
They don't make em like they used to May 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like this jig. It adjusts smoothly and squarely and all the edged are eased so I didn't have to go around with a file and de-burr the corners. My crank handle was a bit wobbly at first but I unscrewed the hex screw and cut off about 1/16" and filed it smooth and now it cranks like a much more expensive tool. The cast iron face is a little smoother than a typical blanchard ground face and the bottom of the unit (the part that contacts the table) is flat and smooth. I can cut tenon shoulders all day with this thing. What makes my unit so smooth and sturdy? I bought this exact unit 20 years ago for $59.00 because I couldn't afford the big cast iron model Delta used to sell for $350.00 both were made in the United States back then and the finish was carefully done. The parts were thicker and the components fit together with tighter tolerances. I guess the Chinese and Delta have pulled another one over on all of us. My older unit get's 4 stars, the new unit? I don't know. I wouldn't buy one made in china or Taiwan. I've seen the quality and it doesn't exist.
Nice adder! December 18, 2007 I shopped for a good tenoning jig for my Delta contractors saw, looking at several different brands from a host of other manufacturers/suppliers. I settled on the Delta unit because of the quality of the unit, the excellent repeatability, and ease of set-up. Good job, Delta!
Glad I bought it June 9, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was going to buy a tenoning Jig when I was at the Grizzy Outlet in PA but I didn't. But when I saw this delta at the same price I jumped on it. The Jig is first class, had to addapt it to left tilt for my saw. That was a piece of cake the instructions were very clear. I was a machinest for a number of years and this product is machined well.
