I bought the KwikTool Hk450 Universal Cutting Machine to help make my life a little easier and am I glad I did! I was hoping that it would be able to cut 1/2 inch steel rebar on a project that I'm working on. I was tired of dragging out my big metal cut off saw to cut a few pieces of rebar at a time. It works great! This powerful little machine slices through it very easily with no effort. It cuts cleaner and faster than the abrasive cut off saw.
I wasn't sure if the HK450 could safely cut rebar, so I contacted KwikTool through their website and they were extremely helpful and gave me some helpful advice:
1. Clamp your work and make sure to wear safety equipment such as safety glasses, an apron and gloves to protect you from flying metal chips.
2. You should approach to the metal as if it were Balsa Wood, very slowly. Ease the Blade into the cut and let it do the work. Rebar will take a second to zip through, don't Jam or Ram the blade because it's carbide and carbide is brittle and you will knock teeth off.
If you follow their advice along with reading the manual, you will love the HK450. This is a must have for anyone and I am looking forward to using it for many projects. I am impressed with the Bad Blade and will be purchasing more for other saws that I have. For the price, you should be ordering one now, you cannot go wrong.

The tool does cut as advertised, but it is a little on the dangerous side. You need to hold the guard back with one hand while holding the side arm with the other, which leaves the very dangers blade completely exposed until you let go. This is unlike a skill saw where the gaurd automatically snaps back. If you should loose control, there is a real chance the blade will get you.
One other issue that is not made clear is that the depth of cut is very shallow. The guard's central ring blocks a lot of the blade, so it can only cut about an inch deep.

After carefully reading the manual, I found this item very easy to use. The Bad Blade for concrete made short work of the mortar holding some outdoor tile. I really enjoyed this tool and the claim of NO KICKBACK is true. I highly recommend this grinder/cutter to anyone.

What a wonderful tool. I've used it twice since purchased and it cuts with no effort. It took a little getting use to but when I did it was a snap. I have cut pipe and gutter trim. The tool has no kick back making it a very nice tool to use with little feeling of having it kick back at me. I felt safe using it.
