Product Description These Czech-made bevel edged chisels are a fine value. Stained beech handles feature well seated heavy steel ferrules to withstand vigorous mallet work; bolstered tangs are also ferruled for durability. The blades are excellent: fine-grained, nicely tempered chrome-moly steel that takes and holds a beautiful edge without brittleness. Don't let the price set your expectations too low--these chisels are inexpensive because of the strong dollar, not because they're cheap. Like most edge tools, they'll need sharpening before use; and like most chisels, they'll feel better and work better after you've gentled their long edges and flattened their backs. The set is presented in a wooden box with clasp. Sizes include 6mm (1/4"), 10mm (3/8"), 12mm (1/2"), 16mm (5/8"), 20mm (3/4") & 25mm (1") sizes. Inch equivalents are approximate

Boxed Bevel Edge Chisels Set/6 January 15, 2007 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this as a gift for my husband who wanted to get started using hand tools for his wood projects. He was very impressed with the guality and thought they were a terrific buy for the price. He has not begun using them as yet, so time will tell how they are working out.
No complaints.... January 9, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is my first set of what I would consider "real" chisels. I was a little skeptical with the price, but I took the plung. Glad I did. After sharpening this set has lived up to all my expectations. The only complaint I have is with the box the chisels come in. After about three openings the latch broke on the box, so now I have a big rubber band around the box. Not a problem. Overall I am completly satisfied with this purchase.
Wonderful chisels October 3, 2005 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
As a beginning woodworker, I wanted to start off with some sturdy tools that would make learning easier. These chisels are wonderful to work with: the handles fit well into my (small) hand, they arrived perfectly honed and ready to go, and the storage box sturdy as well. No regrets.
Quality chisels! May 10, 2005 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this set after reading the other reviews, and I haven't been disappointed.
These are well-made chisels that took minimal time to flatten and hone. I have a set of Japanese bench chisels (from Grizzly) that I use for general work, so I re-ground the bevels to 19 degrees and use these as paring chisels -- long blades, sturdy handles, and razor-sharp. They hold an edge well and cut beautifully.
I like them so much that I bought the remaining sizes individually to complete the set.
