Is there a better one out there??? November 16, 2008 I have used a few frame jigs and this one is hands down the best! I have used it on 4, 5 and 6 sided projects and it never fails to provide perfect corners. Upon opening the box, i saw a piece of plastic.......im tough on plastic things, tools should be made out of steel, aluminum....etc. Well needless to say, I plan on buying 3 more so I can maximize my frame making time. This is one Plastic tool I dont mind hanging in my shop.
Inovative tool October 14, 2008 Plenty of power in the ratchet and ease of use make this tool my primary tool for repairing and assembling picture frames.
A valuable addition to my clamping needs! September 21, 2008 I bought these clamps for glass interior shutters I am making. 2.25" oak frames surrounding hammered glass, 45 degree cuts (to be followed up with spline keys after the glue dries).
This clamp made it easy to clamp the frames with the glass in place.
The only reason I didn't give this clamp 5 stars, was because unless I was VERY careful when moving the clamped shutter from my work bench so I could address glue drips on the "under side", the corners had a tendancy to pop (slide) off. I attribute this to the plastic corners sliding on my poly'd frame. I figure I'll glue small (2mm thick) neoprene pads to the mating surface of the corners to eliminate the slipping issue.
Overall, no problems with applying pressure and they worked as one would expect.
Returned before using it September 1, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
They begged for a review so here it is: I never used it. Plastic packaging looked tough to get into. Good luck
Wish I had it sooner May 28, 2008 Used this to aid in aligning the top of my workbench and it was perfectly suited to the task. Everything held fast while I marked the holes, drilled and drove it all together. Can be a little awkward to position the clamps until pressure is applied, but just takes some patience.
