45 DAYS LATER, BLADE CHIPPED - NOW WHAT? November 4, 2008 A great tool that cuts thru pvc pipe like a hot knife through butter. However, I just noticed I have a 1/4" chip in the sharp part of the blade. It still works, but it boogars up a 1/4" section of the pipe. Can't find a replacement blade. Can't find Neiko Tools website to contact. 15 days out of warranty, can't exchange it. If anyone knows how to get a replacement blade for this thing, please post a comment! Thanks! I'd give it a 5 star rating if the blade didn't chip.
Effective at a fair price August 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very helpful tool for cutting your way through PVC over 1.5". The marketed 1 5/8" ratchet cutters can't "cut it" since the outer circumference of 1.5" PC is greater than 1 5/8". This cutter was one of the few 2.5" cutters available for under $100, and was definitely worth it.
One concern was that I had a small piece of the blade break off (about 1/8" of the blade), but the tool was still effective, and the supplier promptly replaced for me.
This cutter is something that anyone who works with PVC should definitely have in his or her workshop.
This pipe cutter is awesome August 3, 2008 If you are looking for a great PVC pipe cutter, this is it. I used it on 1 1/2 inch pipe and it cut it like butter. No more hacksaws for me!

I was doubtful as to how this tool could cut schedule 40 PVC pipe, but it does a great job
Good but be careful with older pipe October 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was bought at a good price and works well. I needed to cut alot of pool piping that runs along the ground so it was difficult to cut with a saw.
On the newer piping it worked very well but the older piping sometimes cracked as I was cuting it. This is due to the age of the pipe and outdoor conditions which made the pipe brittle. So when cutting older pipe be careful because if it cracks when cutting and your pipe is vertical the pieces fall into the pipe (sometimes large pieces) and it is a pain to get them out.
I don't know if maybe the more expensive, possibly better quality cutters, would do any better on the older piping (I wouldn't think so).
