Product Description Crossfire Auto Leveling Laser With Projected Level Line, Plumb Line & Cross Hair, Laser Line Is Visible At 40' With Accuracy To 1/8" At 20', Includes Innovative Wall Mount System With Horizontal Surface Base & Can Be Attached To a 360 Degree Tripod.
Amazon.com Throw out your chalk lines and trash your plumb bobs-Crossfire is all you'll need. Just place it where you need it and the Crossfire levels itself for accurate straight, level lines every time. It's spendier than Black & Decker's Sight-Line model, but you do get more for your money, and its "cool factor" is high. First, it levels itself automatically, eliminating the need to squint at bubble vials and ensuring accuracy, something we've never been fond of. But what distinguishes this laser is that it projects two lines at once-one vertical, one horizontal-and the position of each can be adjusted individually. So if you need a square work area, the smooth rack-and-pinion mechanism will let you create it easily. We think this is the perfect tool for laying floor tiles or hanging a suspended ceiling. Once you've got your hands on it, you'll find dozens of uses around the house.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Broke within 30 minutes! September 18, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
The thing was broke within 30 minutes and feels like it was made with $2 of materials.
It's everything it claims to be! September 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We saw the Black & Decker BDL310S Projected Crossfire Auto Level Laser on a home improvement show. I read the other reviews online and decided we needed it for our bathroom renovation (which we are doing ourselves). It has been a lifesaver as we install the tile on a bathtub surround wall. It is easy to use and our wall is looking quite professional, even if I say so myself. I would recommend this tool, especially for first time tile installers like us.
Handy for new homeowner July 26, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this on an Amazon Gold Box deal just before moving into a new house and it's turned out to be money well-spent. It is easy to use and can save a huge amount of time and frustration when you have objects that need to be hung on a wall in either horizontal or vertical alignment (or both). I've used it indoors in every room and outdoors in covered areas like the front porch.
There is one design flaw, however, that takes off a star: as noted elsewhere, the screw threads in the tripod mounting hole are just out of reach of the stubby standard screws found on most tripod heads. It would appear that the designers failed to take into account that the black rubberized shell would add about 1/16" to the depth of the recessed hole.
It's not a professional tool, but is more than adequate for occasional use around the home.
A great product June 4, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product was invaluable to my husband when he tiled around our bathroom sink, he did a great job.
Great tool, great price May 9, 2008 Works great, lines show up great even in sunlit filled room.
Very handy for hanging multiple pictures at the same level.
Only downside is small pinholes left in drywall, but they are very hard to notice.
