Essential tool for EVERYONE June 13, 2008 This is not merely a pair of scissors. It's a wire cutter and stripper, tin snips, garden shears, and whatever else you can think of... and they'll still cut paper after doing these heavy duty chores. I am a communications contractor and use these on a daily basis, cutting all kinds of stuff, abusing them by scissor standards for sure, and they are simply amazing. I have literally cut sheet metal with these. They live in my tool pouch and I take them everywhere.
For you telecom guys out there who insist the chromed Klein snips are the best tool because the old timers still use them, think again. Technology has come a long way since those got popular. These fiskars are every bit as tough and miles ahead in comfort and leverage. Plus they cut better.
This is THE tool to have for the handy all-around cutting tool. GET IT.
Truly Awsome !! Don't let the size fool you. November 15, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have owned two sets of these scissors and I can say they past the test. They cut through a bundle 25 pair of phone cables like a hot knife through butter. I have even sliced though a 1 inch thick fiber 12 pair, Kevlar and all. I have demonstrated to non-believers how well this snips work by chopping right though penny's. The small notches on the top of the blade are handy for striping small gauge wire. helps not needing to carry multiple tools. If you do get these be sure to hold them correctly! They are very awkward trying to operate them with two fingers. The elongated handle rests in your palm. You middle or ring finger slides into the other side of the handle. You can generate HUGE torque using them this way so even when they are dull they work great.
