Amazon.com If you've never used a pull-saw, you're probably wondering if everything you've heard about them is true. It is, especially when you're talking about this handsaw from Shark. The ancient Japanese concept of pulling to cut gives you maximum results from minimum effort. Everything about this Shark is top-notch: the shape of the teeth, thickness, balance and the coordinated angle of the teeth, blade, handle, and blade replacement system. Because these blades cut on the pull rather than the push, the blades can be thinner, lighter and more flexible than regular saw blades, and flexibility means flush cutting. The cut is uniformly accurate, clean and easy to start, and you're left with a super-thin kerf. The blade is nice and wide, so you can fearlessly guide it with just a thumb. Something about the angle of the teeth seems to clear debris better than a standard saw, too. Add to this awesome saw the pry bar that comes with it, and you cannot beat this set. We love the bar for its ultra-sharp chiseled edge and the curve that gets you into the tightest spots. It's certainly the thinnest flat bar we've seen, great for prying off trim and molding with virtually no damage to the surrounding wall or the molding itself. We can imagine putting this to good use as a paint scraper, staple and nail puller, carpet remover, tile remover
the list goes on and on. We are impressed.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Great Saw July 2, 2008 Excellent product, works great for close cuts in tight place. I used it to cut off door jams when installing laminate flooring. Be advised the saw is very sharp!!
ever carpenter should have one May 14, 2007 for cutting door jambs for flooring, these cant be beat. unless you want to shell out a couple hundred dollars for a jamb saw. the teeth are razor sharp and will draw blood in a hurry if you dont watch it! the teeth are so sharp and hard they dont take kindly to nails but replaceble blades are pretty cheap at about $17 at my local woodworkers store so after you've ruined the blade by hitting a hundred nails buried in the wood, you can save the handle and replace the blade economically. which is good because we throw enough crap into the garbage every day. the rip side of the blade seems to be fairly useless. i wish both sides had the finer crosscut teeth which are sharper and easier to use.

This saw is simply wonderful. I worked as professional in the last 27 years and I never used any better saw. Only 20% of effort for a perfect result.
Great saw May 14, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just returned from building for a week with Bayou area Habitat for Humanity in Gray, La. I took my Shark saw with me to the job site because I thought I might be doing flooring. I pulled out the Shark saw and the "boss" who had over 100 volunteers wanted to know how we got such a great smooth cut on the bottom of the door jambs. I showed him my Shark saw and he was very impressed. I used it all week and felt so badly taking it away with me that I left it on the job site and he is guarding it with his life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is locked up in the "dog house" (tool shed) and only he will personally release it. He loves it so much that I am buying two more and will send a new one to him and of course I must replace mine, as I feel that my tool bag is not complete without your wonderful saw. It is SO easy to use and makes beautiful cuts. No tearing......great control!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for such a great product.
Whoa thats sharp March 18, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought because of other reviews. I have other regular types of handsaws. This is the first time I purchased something like this Japanese style.
It cuts faster, better, and more accurate than any other hand saw I have ever used. The blade is flimsy and takes some getting used to but it works great. Flush cutting with ease and went through a whole 2x4 in about 12 seconds from start to finish!
I ma impressed.
