Product Description The Makita LXT 18-Volt 3-Ah Lithium-Ion Battery boasts more power, less weight, and a better fit. The optimum charging system produces 280 percent the total lifetime of standard batteries, with twice the number of cycles. With a five times lower self-discharge, this lithium-ion battery is ready for use, even after long periods of storage. Built-in features include shock-absorbing to protect the battery and a memory chip that communicates with the charger to maximize battery life using three active controls: current, voltage and thermal. Sixteen firm holding contact terminals reduce the risk of power loss/fluctuation in high-vibration work environments. This battery comes with a 1-year limited warranty.

Mighty Makita Battery December 21, 2008 The batteries are giveing great service. As they break in, the time between charges increases. I purchased the batteries to add to my combo kit (Makita 1/2"Hammer Drill, impact driver, rip saw, flashlight)which came with two batteries. When working on deck construction two batteries aren't enough and the best deal was with the two pack over the single. Charge times are quick amd run times are long.
Dependable December 11, 2008 I have used many other lithium rechargeable batteries before... one or two of the other brand's batteries have died unexpectedly for unknown reason (no longer take a full charge). These Makita batteries however have not faulted. I have 6 of the smaller 1.5Ah versions of these batteries and all are working great and deliver plenty of power. I ordered these 3.0Ah batteries mainly for the Makita LXT angle grinder which really chews through the battery power. Thes ebatteries have delivered that extra power and are a great addition to your Makita range should you use the cordless tools that generally demand a bit more battery capacity (grinder, reciprocating saw, circular saw etc).
What a battery!!! September 19, 2008 Having gone through several batteries with DeWalt products, I decided to shop around and see if I could find a "better mouse trap". I purchased these extra batteries thinking that they would be on par with the DeWalt's. Boy was I wrong!!! The charge on these last a long time. I have a four man crew with two impact screw guns, a chordless sawzall and a heavy duty drill. We have five batteries total and one single charger. I cant think of a time that anyone of us was waiting on a "hot" battery! Very satisfied!
Powerful, quick charging batteries! September 10, 2008 Take about 30 minutes to charge and last a long time, even on my recip saw or circular saw.
Thankful for the upgrade March 17, 2008 I purchased the 18 volt Makita Drill and Impact Driver with the 1.4mAH batteries. Due to the amount I use them at the same time I purchased two 3.0 mAH batteries and these batteries have significant improved capacity over the 1.4's. I would recommend spending the difference if you use these tools frequently.
