Amazon.com Review A deceptively simple-looking tool, the BoWrench is a boon for both professional deck builders and do-it-yourselfers. The BoWench gives you a fast, one-person way to straighten decking boards. This is great, because decking material--whether redwood, cedar, or another, more exotic rot-resistant wood--is often warped, especially in 14- to 16-foot lengths. To operate the BoWrench, you simply fit the tool on a joist, swing the lever arm, and release. You can either push or pull boards into alignment, and when the handle is perpendicular, the tool locks in place, holding the board securely and leaving you free to drive nails or screws. The BoWrench is better than toenailing. Burying nails in the sides of decking to close gaps works, but it gives water more ways to enter the decking, which eventually leads to rot. With the BoWrench, you'll save time, create a longer-lasting surface, and maximize material. Using the special cam attachment (sold separately), the BoWrench replaces the clumsy beater block as the best way to close gaps in tongue-and-groove plywood and paneling. --Jon Groebner

Makes deck installation MUCH easier December 18, 2008 This is a great tool for installing deck boards. It really helps straighten the bends and bows in the wood.
Deck builders helper December 17, 2008 This tool is extremely useful in deck building AND is Made in USA; enough said. Remember to plan ahead and have this tool on hand before you start the job. It's a great deal.
Don't be skeptical, it works! December 6, 2008 As a contractor, I normally like to try out tools before I buy them. This particular tool was used on an exotic hardwood deck (tiger decking, like an ipe). I admit I was skeptical, but thought the cost was worth the risk, because brazilian hardwood decking is very difficult to manuever, and were ready to try anything! We were pleasantly surprised by the ease of use and the results. My carpenters had nothing but great things to say!
a must have December 3, 2008 This product does excatly what I wanted it to do. It makes deck building a breeze and holds boards tight for a professonal job.
bowrenchgreat product November 30, 2008 great product I put down a tigerwood deck and the bowrench really helped with the 18ft boards I could not have done this as easy if it were not for the bowrench because a couple of times it was difficult even with it
