Perfect combination! December 11, 2008 You never know by pictures until you actually receive it. We are in the IT business and I can't think of a better combination for working on PCs. It's about the size of normal sized zippered Bible. We are shirt and tie consultants. We don't want to look like Joe tech with a suit case size tool kit and key ring on our belt. We want just enough to change a card, swap a mother board, etc. It is fabric, not plastic on the edges with a metal zipper. The outside is a soft leatherette material covering while the inside is a black plastic which also serves as a stiffener. It is easy to wipe clean. It has a little white Belkin emblem on the front. It matches our black leather laptop attaches and looks like a million bucks. The tools aren't Snap-On nor Toho Koki. They are middle of the road Sears quality and look very nice. It comes with batteries for the flashlight, which I didn't use, but will leave them in their shrink wrap for spares. I wasn't excited about the flashlight's appearance compared to the rest of the kit, but it is all plastic, which is safer when working around electronics where there is the potential to short something by accident while checking out a running piece of equipment.
What would I change? It came with a roll of solder wick, but no solder. I thought I was missing something, but it doesn't say it does on the box either. So, I added a tube of rosin core solder solder.
I normally wouldn't spend my time to come back here to write this, but it's so nice I felt I owed it to Belkin for turning out such a nice tool kit as such a low price. I want to see people who do an outstanding job be rewarded.
PS: The tools arrived when Amazon said they would.
good buy November 30, 2008 for quick and easy computer repairs, these tools will do. for daily use, they don't stand up.
Computer repair tool kit October 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this for our 6th grader who takes apart old electronic devices-he loves the kit-everything has a place and instead of using regular tools to explore and learn-he has the correct computer tools with the correct heads on the screwdrivers and nippers.
great product March 3, 2008 great product by Belkin, everything that you need is n here. the only thing that I dnt like is the soldering Iron, but overall is outstanding.
Good gift for computer hobbyist January 8, 2008 Bought as gift for my son, he found it immediately useful for some computer upgrades he also received at the holidays. These tools came in handy for installing parts in the hard to reach areas of the computer tower. Good value for a functional kit.
