Fluke 1AC-A1-II Volt Alert, ENG, C. FRN, L.A. SPN January 9, 2009 Its a decent tester, but not as good as the 1st gen one. It uses up batteries faster, and gives more false readings.
THE ONLY ONE TO BUY! December 10, 2008 This is the only volt alert I would use and trust. It is a quality product that has lasted me for over 5 years so far. It is sensitive, accurate, durable and has a handy clip when you slide it in your pocket. The auto shutoff is nice (with an audible alert to let you know it's turning itself off). The illuminated tip is good for dark places like an attic. I'm getting one for my brother and father as gifts. I wouldn't trust any brand other than Greenlee and Fluke. I think all others are dangerous and a waste of money.
Very good October 18, 2008 Believe all of these positive reviews. I've always used the Greenlee "tickers", but I got such a good deal ($1.50 before shipping!!) there is no way I would pass it up and I use these everyday. High quality. very sensitive. The only MINOR issue I have with this is the low volume. That's just me, others may prefer the quieter type. Sometimes I use it to shut a circuit off quickly and I like to be able to hear it if I am far away and don't have anyone around to tell me I found the right breaker. Let it be known, these aren't fool proof. They're a quick way to determine the presence of voltage. If you're not positive, be safe and at least use a meter.
works great October 6, 2008 this is the tester that all the electricians use at work highly recommend. what can I say? I can see why they all like it. It works great and saves me a lot of time from individually testing each wire with a meter. It's heavy duty and bulletproof. I have dropped it many times and it remains unfazed. great product and Fluke lives up to it's reputation.
Not durable enough September 12, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
This tool looked durable, but broke after it fell off of a six foot ladder.
