if the person is not a large person this works well. I can see it wearing out fast under everyday use though

For the price this is a decent product. However, based on a couple of nights use of this product I felt that it worked well on a good mattress. However, when I put it on an old sofa bed mattress (which was the intended target of this topper) it did little to improve the sleep experience. We ended up trashing both this topper and the sofa bed :)
I am not sure you can fix a bad mattress with this topper.

I bought this on sale on afternoon kind of on a whim. I have been sleeping on a cheap mattress bought at a place called Cheap-o Depot here in town the past 3 years or so. As a college student, the price was right and oh man, I cannot TELL you how comfortable this thing is. I'm sleeping much better now than I ever have before. A great product.
Great 'bad matress' fixer June 8, 2008
This mattress topper is pretty good, this one is my first one so I can't really compare it to something else. I had gotten a previously 'bad' mattress that was too firm for me due to my family's preference of liking hard mattresses. I on the other hand like softer ones, and this one fixed it right up.
It comes with the usual smells of a foam product but I was well prepared for that by just setting it up-right (that was tricky) and used a good fan to blow at it for a few hours. The smell was completely gone in about six hours, with most of it faded by three. Best to do this 'trick' in a separate opened window(s) room, with the door closed as the smell of the chemicals can spread rather quickly.
Though, I suppose a three inch, or four inch would be even better, I just didn't want to pay more for a thicker one.

very satisfied with product.very comfortable on old mattress. good price. havent tried any other memory foam mattress enhancers, but am very happy with this one.my daughter got same mattress and i got mine on her recommendation.
