Two boxes to make one product... May 14, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This hutch was fairly easy to assemble and it looks great for the price. The display niches are on the small side, but they can house CDs, small paperbacks and little treasures. I only kept this piece of furniture because I was able to buy another of the same product at my local Target store. Both boxes--the Amazon-delivered and the locally purchased--contained multiple damaged pieces. Fortunately, I was able to mix and match enough unbroken pieces to make a complete product. I also bought the desk and had the same problem and result. It's a nice-looking hutch (and desk) for the price, but be prepared for damaged goods.

I absolutely love this hutch. It's beautiful and graceful, the wood is gorgeous, it is constructed very solidly and it's easy to put together. Before you buy it, however, check the measurements. The shelves are fairly small: the top ones are the height of a CD case and the side ones only accomodate books up to seven inches. I put my much larger thesaurus and some notebooks on top of the hutch centered between bookends so I'm happy with that. I put a clock, some smaller books and a couple of decorative items in the side shelves and the effect is great.
