Amazon.com Product Description The Digiview RC61ELW Atomic Travel Alarm Clock is a radio-controlled digital alarm clock designed especially for travelers, but you'll find that this inexpensive atomic clock is also ideal for use on a nightstand or a crowded desk. Although the RC61ELW is pocket-sized, it features a large display and an auto-off backlight for clear viewing day or night. This compact, remarkably accurate clock is loaded with dual snooze alarms, and it even features a calendar and indoor temperature display. Digiview didn't scrimp on style -- this clock has a semi-metallic silver-toned molded case that looks good in any decor. In timekeeping mode, the clock's two-line LCD panel shows the time, month, date, weekday, and indoor temperature. The dual alarms also feature a programmable snooze interval so you can wake up just how you prefer. The hinged front cover protects the LCD display during travel, and then pivots open to serve as a stand. Designed for placement on a nightstand, table, or desktop, this compact clock works on the road, at home, or in the office, and it is powered by a single AAA battery (not included). The RC61ELW is amazingly accurate. It calibrates itself to the world's most accurate clock every night by receiving WWVB 60kHZ radio transmissions. These transmissions contain time information from the U.S. atomic clock source operated by the U.S. Commerce Department. The time can be displayed in 12-hour or 24-hour format, the month and date are displayed digitally in that order, and the weekday is displayed as a two-letter abbreviation in English, Spanish or French. Successful reception of the time-sychronization radio signal and signal quality are indicated by a radio tower and waves icon just above the clock's seconds display. After synchronization occurs, you can select your continental U.S. time zone, and a U.S. map icon in the upper line of the display indicates the selected time zone. This clock automatically also adjusts for Daylight Saving Time. Almost anyone who travels can use and appreciate the Digiview RC61ELW. It's small enough to fit in a pocket or purse. And because the clock can be manually set, you can use it outside of WWVB range, in which case it functions as a highly accurate digital quartz clock. This economical atomic travel alarm clock makes a thoughtful and practical gift.

Not worth a penny October 25, 2008 I should have paid more attention to the other reviews before buying this clock. Please don't make the same mistake I did. First, there is NO manual clock setting on this clock. Yes, you can adjust the time yourself, but the atomic clock will override your setting in the middle of the night. There is nothing you can do to shut the atomic setting off. Second, an accurate atomic setting would be fine if it actually kept time and was accurate, but it is not. After my clock set itself to Eastern time one night, the next night it jumped ahead 8 full hours. It made no sense to me because it was still set for Eastern time. I tried resetting it multiple times, but the same thing kept happening. Third (like you really need a third for a clock that doesn't work), it only has the Continental United States time zones. So even if the clock kept accurate time in the States, you wouldn't be able to use it elsewhere. I moved to the Canadian border of Maine where the time zone is Atlantic and that made the clock go even more haywire. Please save your money. I hate that I wasted mine.
The perfect travel clock October 12, 2008 I have had several atomic clocks and this is the cheapest and best. Plus: - always syncs really fast, no matter where in the US I was - good readability - shows the time the alarm is set to without having to press a button - that is a big PLUS for me - has + and - keys, so you can easily set the times - good to read - battery lasts forever - shows temperature as an added plus - folds up and is very protected Minus: - not so easy to operate
Great features and ultra-portable July 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This clock packs a lot of useful features into very little space. The display is large and easy to read. The dual alarms are handy and the ability to configure the snooze interval is great. The radio time receiver has worked well everywhere I've tried it. And the whole unit folds down into a tiny package for transport.
My wife uses ours as her regular nightstand clock as well as taking it on trips.
Highly recommended!

Setting the time and time zone may take 12-24 hours for the atomic clock to set the correct time if you miss one step in the set up instructions. Once set it give time temperature and is compact and easy to pack. The clock is easy to read.

I bought this last week. The clock keeps losing an hour between the time I go to bed and the time I wake up. You would think that the most important aspect of quality control for an alarm clock is to keep good time... If you have to be somewhere important in the morning and can't afford a one hour margin of error, get another alarm clock.
