Useless October 9, 2008 I can't say enough bad things about this product. I bought an expensive three way lamp and was trying to be considerate of the environment by buying a fuorescent bulb. Unfortunately when I first screwed it in, it only worked on the middle wattage. The others flickered beyond usability. I even thought I could live with that, i mean, who really needs three different brightnesses on a lamp, but when I turned it off and tried to go to sleep, I found that it flicked light every 5 to 10 seconds. I even tried to live with THAT thinking it was probably my new lamp. No. I bought a regular three way bulb and it works fine. I then but the bulb in my gym bag to take to the office to send it back. It somehow managed to shatter even with the utmost care and caution so I can't even get my money back and also got a nice little dose of mercury to boot.
I don't know if it was the brand, the lamp being incompatable or what but I don't think I will be trying this again any time soon.
Buy Sylvania, not great but better May 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Sylvania's 3 way is really not very good. Glob is worthless and I got 4. They are yellow (er than other compact fluorescents) and there are in fact a 2.5 way. There is very little difference between the middle and the high, which is about equil to a 75 watt light bulb. The Sylvania hits 100 watts of brightness and isn't as yellow. Glob is cheeper and not worth it.
Dim bulbs June 7, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have yet to find a compact fluorescent bulb that gives out the same amount of light as the incadescent wattage bulb the manufacturers compare it to. And this is one of the worst.

Essential for the environment, and a great long-term money saver. Also such a respite from changing light bulbs frequently...I'm not tall and that was a nuisance.
3 way compact fluorescent bulb May 12, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
There are 3 settings, one bulb, must vary voltage, difference in brightness for each setting is much less than for incandescent bulb. Not worth the high price.
