As any parent of babies knows, sleep is a precious, precious commodity. Scores of books and articles have been written on the subject, and one of the first questions any parent will hear, after "How cute! How old? Boy or girl?" is, "Does she sleep through the night?" Babies aren't designed to sleep through the night in their early months, but eventually, they can sleep for longer blocks of time. And this is when parents will do just about anything to lengthen those snooze hours. The Sleep Sheep might just be the most effective sleep aid in a parent's tool belt. It sure is the cutest! Standing (or rather, sitting) just 11 inches tall, this cuddly lamb can be attached with Velcro strips to baby's crib. Tucked in its back is an audio box with four soothing sounds from nature: a heartbeat, a spring rainfall, the ocean, and whale songs. My baby loves the heartbeat sound. It makes him fall asleep immediately. The other sounds are lovely too and the sheep is adorable. It is not white, but a cream color that goes very well with any room decoration. I love it!
Cute and really works January 3, 2009
I got the Sleep Sheep and it really works. When my baby was really young, the "mother's heartbeat" sound was a lifesaver: she would drift right off to sleep. As she got a little older, she liked the other sounds, which are more like background sounds to block out noise. Now, every night at bedtime, she goes and gets the sheep -- and even turns it on herself!
Wonderful for babies December 28, 2008
Bought the sleep sheep for my 5 month old son. He loves to touch him while in the crib. The sounds are soothing and he falls right to sleep. Definitely worth buying. Also a great gift!
 Sound Machine and Velcro Problems December 28, 2008
I was hoping for this to be an attachment object for my kids at night, but they (3 and 1.5 years) both can't keep their hands off the velcro and sound machine buttons. I had to remove the velcro lasso and take out the sound machine on the first night.

This product is great for parents who would like their kids to sleep for up to 45 minutes, then wake up. Those of us who would like them to sleep a little longer wish that it wouldn't turn off after 45 minutes! I have no idea what they were thinking? Some kind of ridiculous liability issue?
This makes the cute sheep useless. I'd recommend getting a cheap radio and setting it between AM stations.
