 Handy in the kitchen BUTTTT!!!! October 4, 2008
Nice look...easy install...great sound....overall a nice unit.... only two (2) flaws...1. The A.M. radio reception is terrible. Suggestion - add a remote antenna to the unit as an option.. 2. The radio needs a battery back up to retain the memory settings when the power goes out 20 presets for an almost elderly person (over 50) tkes a portion of my precious time and the wife needs me at the stove not the radio ..Oh well in America today NOT Much (if any) is a 100% anymore and guess what....... THERE WERE "GOOD OLD DAYS" sorry to say that young people today have nothing to reference REAL quality products to anymore Sony don;t throw in the towel yet another 50 years and maybe just maybe

The quality of the radio is a little tinny which is the nature of the beast. In any case I am enjoying my player and I like the idea that I can listen to CDs/morning news while I am in the kitchen. It was very easy to install as well.

Nice addition to our kitchen, radio reception not bad considering, and the sound naturally is a little shy on bass, but good considering the size. It's certainly better than having a radio sitting around on the countertops.

I read the reviews after buying the radio and before installation. It was easy to install with 2 people. I read that it should not be near appliances, but we mounted it above the microwave next to the double oven and the reception is great. I like the fact it can be connected to an external play source, either an MP3 or an IPOD. The only drawback that we have found is that we are unable to connect it to external speakers and there is no back up battery.
Right price and right sound. Works for us!
