Product Description Protect either mattress or box spring. Bed bug and dust mite infestations are serious problems that can cause a variety of health concerns including asthma, eczema and allergies. Aller-Zip mattress and box spring encasements provide an effective barrier to infestation. Because treatments can't reach the core of an already infected mattress and box spring, they usually need to be disposed of - but no longer. Aller-Zip protects your mattress investment and most importantly, your health. Its cotton, terry-cloth fabric toplayer is soft and comfortable under your sheets. Guaranteed against leaks or tears for 10 years or the factory will replace at no cost. (Queen Size: 60x80 in., Fits bedding 7 to 12 in. High)

I'm happy with it! September 7, 2010 Fiji Mermaid (Woodside, NY United States) I was a little nervous about how difficult this would be to put on. I was able to do it myself without too much trouble, but it did entail up-ending my queen size mattress. That was a little tricky, but once it was up the cover slips right on and it fits my pillowtop perfectly. Now I can rest a little easier knowing if the bedbug epidemic hits me, the bugs will not ruin my expensive new mattress.
Provided immediate relief, though a bit expensive May 13, 2010 Sky Jagu (Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this out of frustration. I don't know how we got bedbugs after living in a newly constructed house for over two years. Maybe we brought these devilish cretures from our trips or from movie theaters, anyway I was the only one in the house who is visibly getting bit. I know the rest of the folks at home got bit too but nobody cared for my misery since I was the only one to develop these nasty bumps and hellish itch. I would have sold the house gladly just to be rid of this problem. I have read that bed bugs can transmit bloodborne diseases too. So I bought this mattress cover and diatomaceous earth, spread some on top of the box mattress and under the bed. What a relief! No more bites. It was easy to use though you would need another person to hold up the mattress. I got the pillows protectors too. If it weren't for the price, I would have given this a 5. I'm trying Luna instead for the next bedroom. I'll compare that with Protect-a-Bed once I get them.
Works excactly how I wanted it to. March 22, 2010 Lemissa (Seattle, WA USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I ordered this cover as, after I moved into a new home, condensation formed on the bottom of my mattress quickly ruining it. I bought a new bed (the old one was a captain's bed and was fully enclosed not allowing for air circulation) and a new mattress. After spending the money to do this I wanted additional protection and went looking for a mattress cover. It was difficult finding one that protected the entire mattress and not just the top side.
This cover is definitely waterproof on all six sides, it's comfortable, and it doesn't sound like I'm laying on plastic when I go to bed -- in fact it doesn't make any additional noise at all.
It took a little bit of work to get it on my mattress, but I was able to do it myself. As my mattress is still new I'm flipping it once a week -- while one side of the cover is made of terry cloth and is intended to be on the top of the bed -- I don't want to take the time to take the cover off and put it back on every week so I just sleep on whatever side ends up on the top and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. It's nice to have the extra security to keep the mattress safe since it's not cheap or easy to replace.
Overall the cover is a great fit, can be put on by one person without too much work, keeps the mattress safe from moisture on all six sides, and doesn't feel or sound like your mattress is covered in plastic.
Just received it! March 16, 2010 Phoenix21 (Graniteville, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just got this today for our Queen size bed, so cannot say yet if it's good against bed bugs (will add results in a few months). I was able to put it on our mattress all by myself taking extra precautions to avoid any damage to the cover & in about 5-10 mins. Please bear in mind that the description says it fits mattresses up to 13" but when I got it the package, said it was for 9" mattresses so I was a bit reluctant to open it only to find it may not fit (not sure if it'd be returnable). Luckily, it fit fine ( we have a plush top Sealy mattress) with a bit of room to spare w/o it being overly tight (if too tight & the zipper may strain causing the "teeth" to open & defeat the purpose). So just be aware of that before buying, for those that have plush pillow top mattresses, as a 9" Queen cover would be too small. If you need a specific size, Luna brand covers give you the option to choose but these are just as good.
I am hoping this will solve the mystery of the bites I've been getting. I just may be allergic to something in the bedding & may not be a bed bug issue although I am still having a professional come in & inspect my home. Either way, it makes me feel better knowing my mattresses are protected now & in the future.
Update to follow soon on performance.
Zipper broke February 18, 2010 jb (Brooklyn, NY) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this to cover my mattress prior to subletting my apartment. It seemed to fit snugly and was comfortable. However, 4-5 weeks of having it on the mattress the zipper broke exposing the mattress. That defeats the entire purpose of having it. Since I did wind up with some type of bug problem, it was a huge disappointment.
Thankfully amazon was kind enough to allow me to return it for a refund. I would not recommend this product. I went to bb&b and bought one for the same price.
