Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Easy on your ears, your back and on the environment, this carpet sweeper uses no electricity, empties easily and is lightweight. The wide cleaning brush manages to pick up all sizes of dirt particles from carpet, even under furniture.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy this   October 7, 2008
If you're looking for a quick way to clean up occasional or light items on your carpet without hauling out the vacuum....DO NOT BUY THIS SWEEPER....it just does not work....failed on every level ( my expectations were not out of reason )very disappointed.....I will try one of the heavier, better known models and hope for the best.

1 out of 5 stars Does Not Work   September 21, 2008
I bought this based on the positive reviews. This picks up nothing. Not even the dog hair that is laying on top of carpet. I wasted my money, don't waste yours.

5 out of 5 stars Best sweeper I've ever used   August 17, 2008
Our household has a dog and two messy boys. We have hardwood floors throughout the house but most rooms have a central rug or two. We have a pretty decent Eureka upright that we use for deep cleaning weekly. On a daily basis, we rely on a carpet sweeper.

I bought the Casabella sweeper to replace a Bissell model that I'd been struggling with for years. The Bissell swept things up fairly well but it was difficult to clean out at the end of each use and the handle kept falling apart.

The Casabella does a better job of sweeping things up, is very easy to dump out at the end of each use, and (although lighter in weight than the Bissell) is more sturdily constructed. It also cost about half what the other model cost. We've used it daily for about six months now with no problem at all. I'm going to buy another one for upstairs use!

2 out of 5 stars What it can and can't do ...   May 22, 2008

Unfortunately I'm a perfectionist. I have 8 children so I have to fight myself constantly to learn to live with things like ... DIRT! We have rugs in our entry way. We do a big vacuum job every Saturday. But sometimes I just didn't feel like lugging out the big vacuum to clean the rugs in the middle of the week when I couldn't stand dirt, sand, fuzzies, sawdust, leave bits, etc. on those rugs anymore. I searched and came upon this carpet sweeper.

Yes, it does clean but I found that I had to go over and over and over the rugs to get them perfectly clean. For me, lugging the big vacuum out now is a joy compared with the time I spent using the carpet sweeper.

I realize not everyone can afford a vacuum. Then this will definitely help you. For others who can afford a vacuum, you should know it doesn't do good AT ALL around the edges (next to the walls). Fortunately, my rugs moved so I could pull them away from the wall to get the edges of my rugs clean. I would've been really frustrated if it was carpet that couldn't be moved ... how would you clean the edge then?

I moved mine to the trailer. I have a small area in it that is carpeted (which seems really stupid to me since when we go camping, we always drag dirt, mud, etc. in. Hard floor of any type would've been better). But it works better than nothing and I have no room for a vacuum in the trailer. Also, we use it on the outdoor carpeting that we put outside of the trailer to help keep some of the dirt from being dragged into the trailer. It's good for that because we had no other good way to clean that carpet before, and it doesn't need to be perfect.

Why only 2 stars? I felt people were over-rating it. It's rather a shame that they made it with the silver part on it (look at the picture). It gets dirty right away and full of finger prints as you go to dump the dirt out of it. Seems silly to have a material that doesn't hide dirt or at least the finger prints.

I just wanted people who are searching for the right item for themselves to consider that it's not going to be your dream come true if you're fussy about clean or the amount of time you spend cleaning. I don't want someone with limited money to buy it and find it doesn't clean edges, or that it takes forever if you want a very clean carpet. There are some inventions that just can't be beat, and a vacuum seems to be one of them for serious cleaning.

4 out of 5 stars Just as expected   April 21, 2008
This product lived up to previous reviews. Does a very decent job on my kitchen floor and the dog hair. Easy to empty....and I have an extremely bad back.
