This bi-directional cable converts S-Video to composite RCA or vice-versa without an expensive active converter. This quality 75ohm coax cable is double-shielded with 85% aluminum foil and braid to reduce unwanted noise and distortion. The Y/C signal separation circuitry provides a bright, crisp picture from your PC.  Very Cool! January 4, 2009
I used to have a home office...and a second 24" monitor to hook up to my laptop for various things. Photos, movies, a second workspace. Then my husband's job became a telecommuting job. He stole my office AND my second monitor! PFFFFT!
Don't feel too sorry for me though, I have it all figured out. Now I do my work on a laptop desk from the recliner in the family room. Heh. But I sure did miss having a second monitor to really blow up photos, or watch a movie while I worked. The 42" TV is here, but not always something to watch on my 400+ channels. *eye roll*
Until I found this cable. This was exactly what I needed to be able to show everyone in the room something I am looking at on my laptop. I use it to put friends and family up on the big screen for Skype video chats, or to watch movies on Netflix while still working on other things on the laptop. I have also used it for a slideshow of photos from my laptop...so much easier to see them at 42"!
I have not had the disconnection issues others have had. Also, on my laptop the s video port is on the back left and the headphone jack is on the front right, and I have no trouble with length for plugging them in.
I think you have to have a certain expectation of the type of cable and it's capability. For me, considering it's an s video to HD TV, it's really pretty clear. Any kind of document reading/writing or fine art work is not doable with this cable. It would be awesome to find an HDMI cable for perfect resolution. I looked all over for a 10-12' HDMI to USB, with an attached sound cable, but could not find one. Still, for the price and what it does, this cable is a 5 star for me.

Works great for the money. So easy to use and I am having lots of fun watching my laptop stuff on TV. So nice to see things on the large TV screen with superb sound systems vs the tiny screen and mediocre sound system of the laptop. Great buy.

The audio works just fine. The video loses quality though. I use mine to play video games on my tv from my laptop. I can play the games just fine but if I look at the laptop screen It definitely looks much better. This will work no problem but there is probably a better connection out there.

I have had no problems.... it is a great length....i cant imagine one shorter being as useful. I have had no problems. Image is good.

I use it to connect to the TV while I play the video on my notebook. This is great. Picture quality is amazing, and voice is clear too.
They delivered it to me pretty fast too (2 days from order). The packing was good.
Overall, a good value for money.
