Great TV, Great Price, Great White-Glove Service January 7, 2009 We've had this TV for ~2 months and love it. We have our cable box connected to a Yamaha RX-V863 AV Receiver via HDMI which is connected to the TV's HDMI port 1. We also hooked up the same cable box connected directly to the TV's Component port. This allows my wife and I watch enjoy the TV with high quality surround sound while allowing our Nanny to turn on Noggin/Sprout for our child without the need for the AV Receiver via the Component input source.
There is a slight difference between HDMI and Component quality. Nothing major for a child. The TV sound is pretty good, but it does not beat having an AV system.
Other than that, I don't think I can add anything else that has not already been written.
Sony Bravia 52" TV December 27, 2008 I am so pleased with the quality and of course the great price! What more can you ask for when it is delivered and set up for you? Perfect!! It goes perfect with the black glass tv stand I also puchased. Looks like a matched set made to go together. When it comes to Amazon, there is no where else to shop!!! I put the item in my cart for a few weeks and waited until the price dropped, and it sure did!! The price doesn't even compare with other companies. I would highly recommend!!!!
White glove delivery, good price, No disappointments. December 26, 2008 Delivery guy did a great job and delivery was on time. I set it up in my newly completed rec room and using a cable splitter connected the antenna that is also used by my Sanyo upstairs. The Sony tuner sensitivity is much better than the Sanyo and the picture looks great. I also bought the Sony AV sound system and I am very much pleased with the performance/price.
BEST EVER!! December 24, 2008 This Sony TV is simply Awesome! I spent lots of time researching HDTV's and this was the best price. BEST SHIPPING! Amazon Logistics company they used where very nice and helpful. The white glove delivery in this busy holliday time was PERFECT! Thanks Amazon and Sony!
Excellent picture, worth the price. December 20, 2008 I won't cover any of the features as you can read that in the other reviews. I was very concerned to buy such a pricey item online. But I'm glad I gave into the temptation to save $600+ over local retail stores. I've had the TV for a month now and the picture is superb (with dish). I was surprised to see a signal meter built into the menu for help to tune in an antenna. I found that in the menu after I struggled fine tuning it with my wife's help. With all the good there is some not so good. One feature I was counting on that is worthless is the guide. There is a designated button for the guide but it has never worked from day one. I don't plan on wasting any more time trying to force it to work because on Sony's site.....after the Feb 2009 digital conversion the guide will become useless. Nice surprise that the day I bought the tv it was already out of date. Bummer. I hope after Feb that Sony can update the tv via USB like they have with other updates. The menu seems to leave a bit to be desired. I guess I expected to see more options. The other thing that sold me on the tv is the HDMI connections as well as the Bravia Theatre buttons (the one remote works everything when watching say a dvd). I have not tried that yet. Overall I would do it again or recommend a tv purchase through Amazon to family & friends.
