Product Description Though there are many recipes for making pizzelles, this waffle-like cookie has fairly ancient origins and is served at most banquets and feasts throughout Italy. The name pizzelle comes from the Italian word "pizze" for round and flat. It has been called the oldest known cookie, and it's believed to have originated in the Abruzze area of Italy centuries ago. Some people say the pizzelle made its debut at the village of Colcullo, during the Festival of the Snakes, when villagers celebrated a divine intervention that helped them expel the serpents overrunning the town. Others say it started at the village of Salle, where pizzelles are still baked today to celebrate the feast of Beato Roberto, a twelfth-century monk. This VillaWare Prego Pizzelle electric Pizelle iron bakes batter quickly and easily so you can enjoy this delicious cookie fresh, every day. It helps make each day a feast. And each day should be a celebration. Add this to your kitchen today! Automatic thermostat Steam guard to protect hands from steam 110 Volt AC power cord Chrome finish with black handles

Excellent Product! January 6, 2009 This thing's awesome. I tried several of the recipes and they all have been great. Very easy to use, easy to clean, well worth the price.
Best Ever Pizzelles with VillaWare Pizzelle Baker - V3600-NS January 6, 2009 Making pizzelles for Christmas is a long-time tradition of mine. When I found out just before Christmas that my 30-year old pizzelle maker wasn't working properly, I read the reviews on the VillaWare V3600-NS Prego non-stick pizzelle maker and ordered it immediately. What a smart move that was! The pizzelles were perfectly thin, crisp and delicious from the first batch, never sticking even once.
And I found that I could make two pizzelles in only 30 seconds (use your own kitchen timer). From start to finish - mixing the ingredients and cooking the pizzelles - I was able to make a batch of 36 perfect pizzelles in about a half-hour. Clean-up was very simple because nothing stuck to the machine.
It was the most enjoyable part of baking for Christmas this year - making about 15 batches of anise, chocolate and swirl (chocolate/vanilla) cookies. I highly recommend this product. I would give it more than 5 stars, if possible.
Finally...we found the perfect pizelle maker January 3, 2009 This is awsome!! My Mom can make pizzelles again like I remember years ago. This product has great reviews and I know why...it is perfect!!
pizzelle December 28, 2008 The VillaWare V3600 pizzelle baker was exactly as advertised. I received it on time and in excellent condition. It was put to big test this holiday season as i made several hundred pizzelles. it worked like a charm. the directions for it were not in the box but was easily obtained from the VillaWare website. i printed it right off the computer. if you love pizzelles like it do, this is the right machine for you.
Beats using a stove top pizelle iron December 27, 2008 I am impressed by how easy it is to use this pizelle iron. The recipe for traditional Italian pizelles works fine, and they don't stick to the heated surface. If you like anise, use anise oil instead of extract for a stronger anise flavor. I need to play with my pizelle machine a little more because the pizelles come out with different degrees of darkness even though I cook them all the same amount of time. All in all, a great machine for the price.
