Amazon.com Review Cooks shopping for midweight stainless-steel cookware at a mid-range price may well have found their match with this cookware set from Cuisinart. Equipped to handle most common cooking tasks, the 17-piece set includes a 1-1/2-, 2-, and 3-quart covered saucepan; an 8-, 10-, and 12-inch covered skillet with helper; a 4-quart covered saute with helper, and a 9-quart covered stockpot, as well as a 7-3/4-inch covered steamer insert and 9-1/2-inch covered pasta steamer insert. As part of Cuisinart's Chef's Classic line of cookware, all pieces are made of 18/10 stainless steel that has been polished to a brilliant mirror finish and that won't react to acidic foods. An inner core of aluminum ensures that foods heat quickly and evenly without hot spots that can burn foods. The riveted stainless-steel handles on the cookware stay cool on the stovetop and the matching 18/10 mirror-polished stainless-steel lids seal in moisture and nutrients for healthier, more flavorful results. In addition, the cookware pieces provide tapered rims for drip-free pouring and all pieces are dishwasher-safe. All cookware in Cuisinart's Chef's Classic line is oven-safe up to 450 degrees F and covered by a limited lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Love them November 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this set. They are easy to use, great for cooking, and look wonderful. I use Bar Keepers Friend to clean them and no longer have problems with water spots. I think this set is going to last a lifetime.
Great for the price! July 5, 2008 We searched long and hard for a great set of stainless cookware at an affordable price and we found it with Cuisinart's Chef's Classic Cookware set. We have had them for four months now and have found that every piece is useful and everything we cook on it cooks up well. Many of the lids are interchangeable and every pan comes with a lid. One thing on the lids - they get pretty hot, which is something the product description doesn't mention.
One thing to consider is they are sometimes hard to clean. Soap and water usually does the job and all of it is dishwasher safe but they do tend to get spotty. What we usually do is clean the heavily used pans once every couple of weeks with Cameo Stainless Steel Cleaner. This seems to shine them back up, good as new.
We bought extra pieces, including Cuisinart's multi-purpose 5.5 quart pan with glass lid and Cuisinart's 6-quart sauce pot with lid. These pieces match the set and work just as well.
The information packet with the set told us never to cook on high with the pans and that works out just fine with us. Everything still gets hot in record time and cooks thoroughly with no problem of sticking or burning.
To summarize, if you are in the same predicament that we were in, this is definitely the set for you!
Excellent cookware in use, care, and value April 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have used primarily the best non-stick cookware available and recently wanted to switch to a good set with no non-stick. I didn't know where to start or what I should look for in cookware. After some research, I decided to get this set because it goes from stove top to oven and looks great with a professional flair. After reading the reviews about staining and clean up, I was hesitant. However, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Read the cleaning directions! Use warm vinegar to remove discolorations which are caused by the water - NOT THE COOKWARE. I hand wash my cookware and wipe dry immediately. This prevents almost all spoting. If a discoloration occurs, I use a little warm vinegar which removes everything. The drip-free pouring is excellent engineering feature. The cookware heats up evenly and quickly. I never use the highest heat setting for even boiling water. I recommend this set to anyone. Be sure to read the manufacturer's information contained with the set.
Really Great Pan Set. March 31, 2008 My wife and I puchased this set a month ago, she has been very happy with this set. Looks great cleans up nice, and we don't have to worry about cooking on teflon everyday. The other people who said to use barkeepers friend were right, it is a good non abrasive product that cleans without scratching. Handles stay cool, and the pans have a nice weight to them. Good quality set without breaking the bank.
Fantastic cookware March 26, 2008 I had purchased a similar set at a local store, decided to check amazon when I got home, this set is larger and came with a free extra pot, for about $75.00 cheaper. Of course I returned the one to the store and purchased this from Amazon. It is everything I was expecting, I love cooking with these pans. Never had trouble with clean up, if I brown something in a pan, I just add some soapy water and after a short time of soaking, it wipes clean with a paper towel. My last set cost way more than this, and was non-stick, they did not hold up well at all and I decided to never buy non-stick again. I have absolutely no problem with anything sticking in these pans.
