Love it! June 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great ice tea machine. The previous reviewer probably didn't have the ice tea carafe (it really does stay cold!) pushed up against the brewer. The only drawback might be the amount of ice you need in the carafe. Love it!
Mr. Coffee - Needs a lesson in fluid dynamics June 8, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you like your iced tea served on the floor or on your kitchen counter, then this is the iced tea maker for you! The pitcher "spout" design allows about 50% of the poured tea to go into your glass, while the rest dribbles down the side of the pitcher and onto the floor.
While brewing tea, half of the tea flows down the side of the tea maker, while the other half goes into the pitcher. My wife just finished cursing the iced tea maker, while mopping up a mess, which prompted me to write this review.
OK, lets add this up. 50% into the pitcher, then 50% into the glass. That gives you 25% net drinkable tea and 1/2 of a roll of paper towels to clean up the mess. The tea that makes it into the glass tastes great, though!
How hard is it to make an iced tea pitcher? Apparently it's pretty hard, because Mr. Coffee couldn't do it. Maybe they should stick to coffee. Oh, wait, I forgot about the Mr. Coffe pot at our office. It has the same poor design, that pours everywhere except into the cup. I guess that's what you get for $20 bucks.
What's the deal, Mr. Coffee? Stop trying to make your product look "cool" and make something that works! I think you need to have a cup with "Mr. Engineer" and figure this problem out.
