Not good over time January 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have had this iron for about a year. We purchased it because our last iron was a Black and Decker and lasted for a long time. This iron worked will for us until the swivel that holds the cord decided to stop working. We can iron if we hold the cord just so. I thought I would repair the iron but they put a no tamper screw in so I would have to buy a special screw driver and frankly the iron is just not worth the cost of the screw driver.
great value for money December 3, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Works great. Good price. Only problem is B&D has put an unopenable screw at the back so that even fuse blows off, it becomes useless!!
A waste of money. November 24, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The hottest setting I could hold my hand to it and not have to worry about getting burned. It can't even iron a thin cotton t-shirt. It's horrible.
Heavy and doesn't glide well October 21, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The iron heats up fairly quickly and produces a fair bit of steam but it's really heavy and doesn't glide smoothly so it's hard to use. For some reason there are little rubber "lips" inside the opening where you add water. They make it hard to pour water in and more often than not I end up with a puddle on my ironing board. Worse, after a month or so of use, one of the "lips" is bent up and won't allow the sliding door on the opening to close all the way. This isn't a bad iron for the price but really isn't a very good design.

Don't be fooled by the price. The Black and Decker AS150 works as well as any expensive brand. It is easy to use and does not require excessive applications to give a good press.
