Best cordless vacuum August 25, 2008
Excellent vacuum. Powerful, with convenient pivoting nozzle and built-in extension. Two speed option. The best cordless vacuum I ever had. I love it.
Finally, a car vac that works! August 22, 2008 Getting beach sand out of car seat sewn leather seams has always taken my big shop vac until now. With 35 air-watts of suction (vs. 36 for the Dyson which costs three times as much and has real problems with its lithium-ion battery), my new B&D 18 v. cordless handheld vac actually works! It sucks up the sand for almost 20 minutes (longer than needed) before exhausting its reliable NiCad batteries. Overnight charging on its docking station readies it to go back in the trunk, ready for the next surfing trip. My other NiCad cordless tools have lasted for years without ever having to replace the rechargeable batteries. For my "beach" application, I disregard the "projectile" warning and remove the filter to avoid any loss of suction during the cleanup cycle. The filter cage mesh alone is fine enough to prevent sand grains from coming out through the air exhaust vents (I wear glasses to be safe). Also, I was able to modify the attachments from one of my old useless cigarette-lighter-powered car vacs to adapt my new B&D to standard round vac hoses and fittings. Convenience, affordability, reliability, versatility, and, most importantly, it actually works! For me, this is a first!
Handy, and fun to use August 21, 2008 The design is unique, and so is the functional pivoting nose, which can even be extended. I like the turbo power option, too. It's a little messy emptying the dirt compartment, and a nuisance washing the filter; but overall I recommend this useful household gadget. It's the best handheld vac I have ever owned.
Awesome product August 18, 2008 I love this vacuum. It folds up to be compact and fits right in a recharging unit. So it is ready whenever you need it. Additionally, it has a filter system that you simply open and empty. You do not need any vacuum bags. I use it every day! You will love it as much as I do.
High volt; low battery & filter August 11, 2008 The pivoting nose cordless vacuum is cleverly designed. The nose swivels to reach difficult spots. It folds up neatly for charging and storage. Unfortunately, it takes 16 hours to charge! Because the filter traps so much dirt and stuff (that's good), it rapidly loses vacuuming power and burns through the battery power quickly (those are bad). If I had to buy it again, I would not.
