 European ironing board cover November 26, 2008
This cover was purchased online after it was no longer carried locally. It took a long time to find a place that had this particular size--for an oversized ironing board. Unfortunately, it is not made of the best quality fabric. It looks like muslin, but I'm sure it is not and in fact is probably not as nice as muslin. It appears to be typical of fabric that 'browns' easily from the heat of the iron. I made a pattern from it and will cover it with a pretty fabric for two reasons. One, it looks nice and two, it will help this last longer. The ones originally sold under the Brabantia name were much sturdier. This is the same price but not as nice.

I got this ironing board cover within a week (and I live in Alaska, so that's unusual!!) At first, I thought the material it was made up of was interesting, and it took some getting used to, but I love it now!!!! I guess I was used to having a cotton cover but this is stain resistant and, let me tell you, I sew CONSTANTLY, and it still has no stains on it!! Even after 4 weeks of use!!!
I wish the padding it came with was a bit thicker, but I placed a bath towel on my ironing board under the cover, so it works great!
