Your home stereo equipment generates a lot of heat; a tuner, amp, your CD changer and DVD player together can cook your home entertainment setup and ruin the multimedia system you've worked to create. Build the home theater you've been dreaming about, without worrying about burning it out. Simply place it on top of your hottest stereo component and let the two speed blowers cool your component while preventing heat from rising to any components you choose to stack on top of the A/V cooler. Problem Solved August 18, 2008 My DirecTV HD DVR gets too hot even when installed in a ventilated cabinet. As a result, I had to keep the door open to mainatin a reasonable temperature. This Antec unit solved the problem. I run it at the low-speed setting and the DVR remains cool, even in warm weather and when recording the Olympics for several hours.
A simple and effective solution.
av equipment fan July 1, 2008 good product, sharp looking, light, a breeze to use, really useful for a hot running avr like the onkyo 875, price a bit on the high side.
Works as you would expect June 11, 2008 I have this running over my Onkyo SR805, and it lowered the internal temperature of the unit by 20 degrees F. The entertainment center is not well ventilated, so this was a must buy. It made a hot unit warm to the touch. I do agree that the unit doesn't need the LED on the front, I plan on covering this with black electrical tape.
Receiver Cooler March 28, 2008 This cooler works as addvertised and is attractive, I like the advisory lite (Blue) that tells you it is on. It has two fan speeds (high and low). Now I only gave it three stars because you must walk over and turn it on and off every time you use your receiver, it is composit plastic and has "so so" fans in it, not sure how long it will last. The sound of the fans running is not problem. Just to much money for what you get, it should cost no more than $49.95.
Good product February 24, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have a receiver inside of a wall-unit that was getting hot to the touch. Now that I've put the Antec cooler on top, it is only warm to the touch. The unit is a little noisy, but not as distracting as the hard drive on my DVR. The overall build quality is okay, though I could have done without the LED in the front. Overall it is a good product.
