Amazon.com Review This 3-quart all-around pan will become the most used piece of cookware in your kitchen. The pan's high sides and the lid's domed shape make it ideal for moist-heat cooking and, with a capacity of 3 quarts, this pan can accommodate Sweet and Sour Chicken, a hearty beef stew, or steamed kale for a family of four. Part of Calphalon's Commercial Hard-Anodized line of cookware, this casserole is made of heavy-gauge aluminum that's uniformly thick across the bottom and sides, allowing for quick and even heat distribution. Its durable hard-anodized finish is stick- and scratch-resistant and won't react with acidic foods. The patented cast stainless-steel handles are comfortable to grip, plus they minimize heat transfer so handles stay cool on the stovetop. Handles are held in place by three sturdy stainless-steel rivets and the included lid is hard-anodized. The cookware is oven-safe up to 450 degrees F, so this dish can easily go from stovetop to oven when preparing, for example, a frittata. All cookware in this line is covered by a lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Not very happy with it December 30, 2004 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
The size was perfect. But food sticks to the bottom of the pan and is not too easy to clean either. I prefer a non-stick pan to this.

Another reviewer gave this pan high praise and, rather than repeat it, I will simply agree. Although my preference is for cookware with long handles, this is one pan you can take from stove to table. With trivet underneath, it makes a fine serving dish. There is only one thing you need to know: Buy It Now. (Which is exactly what I did at a certain auction site and, even with shipping costs, paid a few dollars less than the thirty-five Amazon priced it on a Friday sale.) A note of caution: this pan may be made in either Toledo, Ohio or China. In my experience, the quality of the Calphalon cookware is better in the Toledo products (such as the one I have) and if Amazon can tell you the country of origin, so much the better. Regardless, this is a substantial pan that will be used for a lifetime. But one thing is certain: Calphalon is discontinuing the Commercial hard anodized line of cookware and this is one of the few pieces left in the series, at the time of this writing.
I love this pan! February 27, 2004 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
All of my pans are the Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized pans and so I knew I'd love the way it cooked before I purchased it. This pan is a great size! Perfect for browning hamburger meat, chicken, etc. The rounded bottom and sides make it easy to scrape the sides and it is deep enough that the stove isn't spattered with "stuff". I am very happy with this pan. Easy to cook in and easy to clean up. Very important, pre-heat the pan to keep foods from sticking. Also very important, no dishwasher soap, only dish soap. I always soak the pan with a little soap and hot water before attempting to clean it and they always clean-up easily if I do this. Like I said, I love this pan!
