Villeroy & Boch's Cottage collection brings a bit of country style to a kitchen or dining room in either a rural or suburban setting, evoking memories of berry picking, baking pies, and simpler times. The homey pattern on this buffet plate features a muted white background with bunches of blueberries, blackberries, cherries, and leaves along the perimeter, plus a few crawling ladybugs on the leaves. A primitively painted blue stripe lines the edge and inner rim of the plate for a more authentic vintage look. This 11-3/4-inch-diameter plate is oversized precisely for the intention of loading it up with the copious amounts and varieties of food offered at a buffet-style brunch or holiday dinner. Made of fine china, the plate has a slightly translucent appearance but offers the weight and strength of earthenware. It is durable enough to be used in the microwave and can be safely cleaned in the dishwasher.
