 decent good looking coasters August 31, 2008
what's there to say, they are coasters. Would be nice to have a little felt on one side to not scratch my bar.

I bought the Lipper Bamboo Coaster set because I love the look of bamboo products. However, I've had these coasters for a few months now and overall I'm not very impressed.
At first glance the coasters look really nice, but upon a closer inspection they are indeed roughly made like others have already mentioned. Now if that was the only problem, then I would still like these coasters because it makes them more natural looking. But, after using 3 of the 6 coasters I have noticed large water stains as a result of my glasses sweating. This has made the coasters look horrible.
In addition to becoming stained with heavy use, the coasters do not absorb water at all. So if you have glasses that sweat a lot, you are going to end up with a pool of water that can leak off the coasters.
Final Note: If you want a coaster that actually absorbs water, then stay away from these bamboo coasters. If you don't want to spend the extra to get the better sandstone ones, then I would recommend you try the AbsorbaStone coaster. AbsorbaStone is equivalently priced to these bamboo coasters, and they are a lot more functional.
Good-looking and sturdy, but lacking in coating August 12, 2008
I gave these coasters 3 stars because, although I like them and based on the material think they will be durable (and they look nice enough), I think they could use a varnish coat because the wood is a bit rough on those blunt edges in the middle of the coaster. Beware of splints.

I like the color and sturdiness of the coasters and you get plenty, but the
wood trim design is very rough- we're planning on sanding and restaining them.
 shoddy out of the box May 29, 2008
I hadn't even gotten all the plastic off it when it broke. The wall glue came completely undone and it disintegrated in my hands. Bought two, so I thought I might have been rough with the first one. Nope. Second one did the same thing even though I was even gentler than before. Sent it right back the same day and was credited my refund quickly. Bought more expensive sandstone coasters with the oak pedastal holder and love them so much more.
