Great breadbox! Love the fireengine red color...and the small footprint. I'm happy with it!
Dye coming off October 24, 2008
The product is ok, looks a lot better than I expected and does its job. The problem that I have with it is that when it arrived and I took out the packing materials, I noticed that the red dye on the inside of the box was coming of. Not chipping or anything, but if you ran a paper napkin over it it came out red :S
I cleaned it thoroughly before using it, and I have not noticed the problem since, but because of that incident I am a little skeptical about its quality (hence 1 star off).

When I ordered this bread box, I knew from other reviews that it was not a "true" red, but ordered it anyway. They were right, it has a slightly pinkish cast but we are enjoying it anyway. It will fit two loaves of bread and you can squeeze a little something else inside, but it is not as big as it looks.

I bought this item in hopes of keeping my bread fresh, but when I received it, the box was broken and ive not been able to assemble it. I am very disappointed in this product.

I am quite happy with my new red bread box. It rolls very easily and is nice and roomy. I have two loaves of bread and a package of English muffins in there right now and nothing is getting squashed. It looks soooo much neater than all that clutter on the counter. I have all red small appliances (toaster oven, microwave, crockpot, etc.) and I do have to agree that this is not a true red...it's more of a faded tomato-red. I don't really need my accent pieces to match exactly, so I'm satisfied. However that does knock the rating down to four stars for me, because I was expecting a deeper apple-red. What I am REALLY stoked about is that I got this piece for FREE on a "4 for 3" sale!
