Dansk continues to bring out new dinnerware, such as Boundary, inspired by Danish modern design. Like the Boundary mug, the extra-deep soup/cereal bowl tapers up and outward from the base, then seems to straighten up for the top third, in a fluid form compelling to hold. Measuring six inches in diameter, the bowl holds 16 ounces, or two cups, of cold cereal, hot soup, ice cream, and plenty more. The exterior of the bowl is solid black in a contemporary matte finish, while the glossy interior comes in a choice of sky blue or toffee brown. The distinctive two-toned Boundary rim band completes the look. The Boundary bowl is sold individually to augment a collection, or as part of sets of four place settings. Made of stoneware, a high-fired, very strong clay, Boundary stands up to daily use in the microwave and dishwasher, safely keeps food warm in an oven up to 350 degrees F, and can even store leftovers in the freezer. While extremely chip- and break-resistant, stoneware taken from the freezer should be allowed to reach room temperature before being placed in a hot oven. --Ann Bieri
