Found it as expected with just some additional time in the flushing process for the carbon particles August 31, 2008 I have been using the Brita filters for about 3 years now and have always found them working as expected. The flushing away process of the carbon particles is an exception to this.THis is the 1st time I bought the filters online. No complaints with shiping or packaging. But I noticed that removing the carbon particles (not completely though .. I don;t think anyone has been able to do that so far) before starting to use the filter took a little more time with this buy than I had to do with the store-purchased piece. Overall great satisfaction!!
Brita is Best August 29, 2008 We have really nasty tap water so it's great to simply fill up the Brita jar and have clean, great-tasting water whenever I want! It's best when it's a little cold, too. Thank you!
money saving August 28, 2008 This is a great item and it saves a lot of money and also the water tastes great
No problem with these filters; better price than in other stores August 9, 2008 Of course if Amazon goes up on the price or takes away the free shipping it wouldn't be worth buying them here, just get them in your local store. I was a little worried that if I paid less for the filters that they would some how be faulty or defective but that wasn't the case. I've used one of the three and it works just as well as the others I have purchased in Walmart or Target. Change it at least every two months or more if you go through pitchers of water. My Brita pitcher has an indicator on it that helps me know when to change it but after awhile you can taste the difference and know that it's time to change filters. The filters I bought through Amazon seem to be lasting just as long as the others did. No complaints. :-)
You can use it up to 40 gallons - if you have the normal pitcher, that's 106 times August 6, 2008 Think about it. If you're using a filter for 106 times, you're getting your money's worth. Or you can just use it until your tastebuds decide the water is gross again. Remember, it's a water filter, not a purifier. It says so on the package. All it's supposed to do is remove the things that aren't tasting good, and copper too.
There are other brands that you can use first to filter the water that take care of all the other things, like asbestos and stuff. I use one of those, and then to take care of lead, I end with the Brita pitcher. The one that takes care of many more things than Brita does is called ClearH20, and the only thing that it doesn't do is copper. Brita does.
Using both of them makes the water taste terrific. I'd never use Brita or the ClearH20 alone....both of them together create awesome flavor....but either one by itself, the water tastes poor.
