 Great LED Twinkle X-Mas Lights November 6, 2008

I just got a set of the LED twinkle lights and they are quite good. They are "warm" colored LED lights, so they look more like incandescent mini bulbs rather than the blueish LEDs that I more often see. They aren't really as warm colored as incandescent, but they're good. They do have that high-frequency pulse that you can see if you turn your head quickly, but that's minor (and will be the case with virtually any LED lamp).
The best part for me is the twinkle feature. I don't like the blinking or patterns that are programmed and the whole string changes in unison--too mechanical. On this string every 6th or so bulb blinks on and off randomly. Each bulb that twinkles has it's own little controller. That makes the twinkling random and subtle along the string. It's not adjustable as there is no control.
This set is just what I was looking for--a traditional string of lights, with a random twinkle feature, in low-power, cool-running LEDs. I bought 5 strings to wire up a full tree.

I was interested in buying these lights but I want lights that flicker and twinkle. Are these lights actually animated like that? Thanks!
Look good like warm white should November 2, 2008
Was concerned mainly about them being warm white as noted and they look good like warm white should. Hoping for a lower electric bill this year.

I expected LED lights to have a different color to them relative to the older incandescent lights I had used in the past. I was surprised to find that these LED lights look very natural - very similar to standard lights, with the added benefit of longer life, lower power consumption and lower heat.
