Amazon.com Review Perfect for poaching fish, braising meats, frying pancakes, and numerous other uses, this versatile 3-quart nonstick saute pan cooks without added fat. Constructed of heavy-gauge aluminum, the saute pan heats and retains heat evenly for superior, professional cooking. Every chef's dream, the durable 3-ply nonstick finish simply wipes clean. Two handles, one long and one loop-style for added support, stay relatively cool when used on the stovetop, while the snug lid seals in flavors and nutrients. The pan is oven-safe to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, and maintains its nonstick finish when used with either nylon or wooden utensils.--Ann Bieri

Great for Users of Non-Stick Pans March 5, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
***** This is a great pan, and probably the safest non-stick pan around. It screams out "expensive"---it is beautiful, heavy, and seemingly sturdy despite previous reviews of the teflon coming off. My teflon coating seems very secure, so there may be some quality control issues; however, I know my pan is great!
I am tempted to buy more to use as gifts, or to just stock up on for when this one wears out. I am very careful with it, and do not use anything abrasive on it, plus I always wash it right after I use it, which I'm sure is helpful.
It is large enough to prepare a meal for two people inside it, which is mainly what my husband and I use it for---as a general, all purpose pan.
I would recommend it, if you still use nonstick pans. *****
Looking for COMMERCIAL non-stick? April 15, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I sure was! This is the best line of cookware hands down! Being of modest means, I could only buy a piece at a time and that required scrimping and saving. The point is that while saving up for the 5 qt saute, Calphalon discontinued the Commercial line-up. Disappointed? You bet I was! So I began an ernest search with other retailers and I was successful!! I found the 5qt at Dilliard's for 56 bucks, and that includes S&H. So, if you are a true fan of Commercial non-stick, scoot on over there and perhaps you will get what you want.
sturdy, but heavy May 1, 2005 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been using this pan for several months, and I have to say that I'm glad I got it at a bargain. It does the job well, but it's a bit on the heavy side. Not for the muscle-challenged.
Another Great Calphalon Product! July 7, 2003 This commercial nonstick stuff is the way to go. I won't buy anything else except I did buy a roasting pan that wasn't nonstick (for gravy). I honestly don't mind washing pans now. No problem!!! So, I just cook whatever I want with no worries!
All-purpose... June 19, 2003 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I got this pan w/ the 10 piece set about a year and a half ago and I love it... so much that I just bought a second one. This pan is great for most functions... you can fry, saute, simmer...It is the most used pan in my set.
