4 out of 5 stars Pretty good   November 30, 2008
I've only used it a few times. The coffee is pretty good - much better than drip. But it is a little difficult to clean.

5 out of 5 stars Mom's favorite pot   November 29, 2008
I bought this pot for my mother who swears that percolators make the best coffee. After months of using my basic black and decker drip pot, I finally bought her this one. It was a great price since I had shopped around and found that Amazon's was nearly $15 less than the ones I could find in store. No sales tax and free shipping sealed the deal. The percolator arrived 5 days after other items in my order, but it was nice to be able to have the items that were available first. They didn't charge my card until the item was shipped and my mom couldn't be happier with the pot. She swears the coffee tastes better, but I load mine with flavored creamer so I couldn't really say for sure. Either way, its a good deal, a solid brand name pot - and other ones my mom has had by Faberware have lasted for 10 + years so a good track record as well!

4 out of 5 stars Pleased with coffee maker   November 22, 2008
I bought a Farberware 8 cup percolator and am pleased with it. The only thing that is a 'minus' is that the black 'knob' on the lid loosens easily and it looks like it was soldered in. We owned the same model in a smaller size for about 12 years and that had the same defect - knob would unscrew if you tried to loosen lid by turning knob to get lid off. I didn't think a newer edition would have the same defect! I think I'll just have my son=in-law fix it as he has every tool known to mankind. I'm sure he can solder it into a permanent position.

4 out of 5 stars Great Coffee... Only Lasts About 2-3 years!   November 17, 2008
I have fallen into Faberware's diabolical plan... I have replaced the same make and model percolator that I purchased 2.5 years ago. I debated whether to try another brand, but everyone says that percolators just don't last the way they once did.... That way they can sell MORE of them! A diabolical plan indeed!

But after consideration of the 2.5 years of GREAT coffee I had with this product, I went ahead and bought another one, which just arrived today. Maybe this one will last a full THREE years! Wouldn't that be nice? We will see... If this one fails, then I will write to Faberware and DEMAND a free replacement!

5 out of 5 stars Love It   November 9, 2008
We bought the 8-cup model after our plastic West Bend went south. I absolutely love this coffeepot! Why on earth anyone would use a drip coffeemaker when they can have this one is a mystery to me. The coffee is quick, hot and wonderful! After reading many of the negative reviews, most having to do with the newer ones, made somewhere else, I'm hesitant to buy a new one. Unfortunately, the thermostat on ours is getting a little tired, so we'll try replacing it. If that doesn't work we'll take our chances on a new one, or maybe a refurbished one (hopefully American-made. Yeah, right.) OR I'll send my auction-addicted husband on a mission. I'll not be without this coffeepot.
